Frivolous Friday! Checking out the new and improved Lake Poway

It’s Frivolous Friday!

Thought I would share some of the fun I squeezed in this week (in between all my portrait sessions and retouching work.)

Yep, this happened #1:

Have you made some New Year’s Resolutions?

I’m ALL ABOUT setting intentions for the year – I always have a one word Theme and Resolutions for the year – I love having goals to work toward!

One of my goals is to be outside more so a hike around Lake Poway was the perfect early January adventure

(and stay tuned to read about the treat at the end of my hike!)

We set off early and although the sun was shining when we finished our hike, the first part of the hike was misty and foggy.
(Lake Ramona Dam is in the background of this pic in case you didn’t know.)
I was delighted to spot so many amazing sights…
Like dew on spiderwebs….

I spotted the cutest teeny tiny little mushroom ever – it was only about two inches tall, nestled in amongst the dew drops

A great egret was looking for breakfast….

A Great-Tailed Grackle was enjoying the cool morning too….

The sun was burning through by the time we reached the halfway point.

Here’s a nice view of the Boat House – stay tuned for more exciting info on that!

Spotted this little cutie along the lake trail….

Yep, this happened #2:

2.8-miles later, we were back where we started and headed to the NEW “Lookout at Lake Poway Restaurant” for breakfast!

Surprise!   Did you know we now have a cute little lakeside cafe?

Their instagram page boasts ☕️craft coffee, 🎣fishing supplies, 🍔Food🍦Ice Cream & More!🍺 Beer & Wine

And they are open WED-SUN 6am-30 Minutes before sunset

We ordered some yummy breakfasts and then scored a beautiful table with an amazing view….

We watched the kiddos feed the Coots (this guy had spinach stuck in his teeth….embarrassing…hee hee)

We enjoyed our breakfast panini sandwiches – both of which were delicious!

What can I say:  I’m Feeling Blessed!
