Frivolous Friday! Springing forth with Joy and Cherry Blossoms

It’s Frivolous Friday!

Thought I would share some of the fun I squeezed in this week (in between all my portrait sessions and retouching work.)

Yep, this happened #1:

Here’s some of the fun I squeezed in this week (in between all my portrait sessions and retouching work.)

Enjoyed an early with a morning walk at the Japanese Friendship Garden.

(The cherry blossoms were calling me… how could I resist?)

We arrived well before opening and were so glad we did because by the time the Garden officially opened there was a super long line!

I literally raced down to the garden to capture some photos before it got busy – most of these photos were captured in the first 10 minutes because after that it was too busy and we just wanted to leave.

The koi didn’t seem to mind the crowds though….

The garden was a wonderous world of PINK!

The bees were having as much fun as we did! (Look at his pollen collection!)

Advice from a Cherry Tree

Celebrate life’s beauty

Show your true colors

Blossom in your own time

Share your gifts with others

Welcome each new day

Remember your roots

Spring forth with joy!

We enjoyed every little DROP of beauty….ha ha….[oh I crack myself up]

And can I let you in on a little secret?

Did you know that EVERYWHERE I go, my subconscious mind is planning photographs?

If my husband had a dollar for every time I said “Ooooo – wouldn’t it be pretty to shoot a portrait session right there?”

we would be rich for sure.  Anyway, everywhere I looked I could picture posing a High School Senior there!  lol

Yep, this happened #2:

In honor of cherry blossoms, I thought I would whip up a batch of Cherry Bomb Cookies.

These are called Cherry Bombs and I’ve been making them for years (ever since I read about them in a murder mystery!)

To make a cherry bomb cookie, start with the usual cookie making ingredients, plus a whole-lotta cherries!

Then you just scoop up little bits of dough and wrap it around each cherry.

After the cookies bake and then cool, each one gets a little coating of powdered sugar:

YUM!

What can I say:  I’m Feeling Blessed!

And do you know what else I’m blessed by?     Capturing amazing moments for you to treasure for a lifetime!
