Frivolous Friday! Ringing in the New Year!

It’s Frivolous Friday!

Thought I would share some of the fun I squeezed in this week (in between all my portrait sessions and retouching work.)

Yep, this happened #1:

First of all, I wish you a sparkling New Year!

How did you celebrate?

Can you believe I actually attended an official New Year’s Eve Party??

I’m a “early to bed, early to rise” kinda gal so this was my first NYE Party in about a million years!

Well, I didn’t really ATTEND…..but I did hang out on the red carpet photographing stunning guests at Morgan Run County Club’s New Year’s Eve Celebration!

Here I am in full paparazzi mode!

It was so much fun to photograph because everything and everyone sparkled!!!!

Speaking of the New Year – did you make any resolutions?

I’m doing a one word theme again this year – my theme is ‘Mindful’ and I’m planning to apply this to

everything – from how I spend my time, to what I’m eating, to what I’m spending money on and where I place my attention.

What do you think?

So stay tuned to see how that all goes – what are your resolutions?

Yep, this happened #2:

I have to share our annual hike up the hill to the beautiful 75 foot tall Christmas tree that decorates the hill above Poway.

This amazing tree (an annual gift to the community by Debbie and Tom) is visible from my house so it’s always been an important part of our Christmas.

I think this its 34th year blessing the people of Poway and San Diego!

I trekked up the hill in my Santa hat, heated gloves and blizzard-ready parka (because I don’t DO cold!)

No surprise, the tree is even more stunning up close!

Yep, this happened #3:

I don’t want to ruin anyone’s New Year Resolution of cutting down on sweets, but I HAVE to share some SWEET and fancy desserts I made for the holidays….

First of all, I made 18 individual Crème Brule’s for our family Christmas dinner!

Hubby lends a hand by torching the sugar right before we serve them!

The other super rich dessert I made was a PieCaken!

I’m sure you’ve heard of the main dish a “Turducken,” right?  Well this is a dessert spin from that.

Essentially, you first bake a Cherry Pie, then you mix up the batter for a chocolate flourless cake and pour it around the already baked pie and then bake.

So that gives you a pie inside a cake!

Here’s one final image from 2022:

This was captured at 4:45am on our way home from dropping Matt & his fiancé at the airport

we were sad they left, but seeing our beautiful city sleeping cheered us up a little bit – Happy New Year San Diego!

What can I say:  I’m Feeling Blessed!
