Frivolous Friday! A Spa Vacation & Wandering Around the Bridal Bazaar
It’s Frivolous Friday!
Thought I would share some of the fun I squeezed in this week (in between all my portrait sessions and retouching work.)
Yep, this happened #1:
Just got home from a Spa Vacation! 😮 ….not me, but my cameras and lenses! 😉 ❤️📸
Each January, I block off an entire week from photographing weddings and portrait sessions to send all my professional equipment to the Canon Factory Service Center to be cleaned, maintained and pampered.
(I always think of it as a spa Vacation for my cameras…)
Does this cost a lot?
But my clients are worth it!
I have a ton of professional grade lenses and flashes as well as FIVE cameras
I’m happy to report that everything got a clean bill of health! Yay!
I consider it MONEY WELL SPENT! How about you?
So bring it on world – me and my camera gear are prepped and READY – especially for a spring filled with High School Seniors!
Yep. This happened #2
So what did I do with all my extra down time this week while my gear was at the spa?
I attended my first ever Bridal Bazaar!
My nephew is engaged and I got to tag along while he and his fiancé strolled around the Bridal Bazaar – how fun is that?
(Side note – I decided early on that my business would be built around referrals from clients and venues – so I’ve never advertised in a Bridal Fair!)
We saw lots of beautiful things –
And some beautiful AND yummy things
Dunkin’ Donuts had a big display of Donut Amazingness – AND a prize wheel! (I won a free donut! WOOT!)
Speaking of a sweet treat, Cabetos Pops made us each a custom dipped ice cream bar that was THE BOMB!
*They will bring the whole ice cream bar set up to hand dip at your venue!
Wouldn’t that be a fun addition to your reception or family reunion?
I also saw some wedding industry friends….Can Ham Photobooth
Andy from The Groove DJ‘s
Ann Marie from The Handlery Hotel who recognized me and called out as I strolled by (how amazing is that?)
I also made some new friends at-Jasper & Lane Events
Had my nails done by Big Star Beauties
Windflowers had some beautiful custom florals….
And this company, Agambroult Wedding Ring Workshops will help you make your own wedding rings! Isn’t that a clever idea?
Loved this amazing presentation from San Diego Candy Buffets
Seriously, YUM and SO BEAUTIFUL!
Red House Floral had a beautiful display – and the owners told us they grow everything they sell on their So Cal farm!
And they gave me a beautiful protea to take home!
And OF COURSE who can resist looking at all the amazing wedding gowns! SWOON!
The Modern Groom had models so you could really check out the suits!
Yep. This Happened #3
Well, after all that strolling and cake sampling, we were famished. lol!
So we strolled down to the Gaslamp to see what we could find and we wandered into Baja Ricks (where Tin Fish used to be.)
My sister and I shared a platter of Cod Tacos and let me tell you this: They were the BEST fish tacos I’ve ever had! What do you think about that?
I can’t wait to go back with the hubs!
What can I say: I’m Feeling Blessed!
And do you know what else I’m blessed by? Capturing amazing moments for you to treasure for a lifetime!
sessions are an hour long with unlimited poses, unlimited outfits, unlimited fun!
