Frivolous Friday! Autumn in Julian

First up, we always take a stroll through the shops…just to see what there is to see.

We always find delightful little things.   I bought a few stocking stuffers and did a whole lotta window shopping!

And every. single. time. we go to Julian we eat at the Julian Café & Bakery.

And every. single. time. I order the exact same thing:

a “Christie’s Apple Salad”

It’s one of those salads that has so many goodies in it that they spill over the edge of the plate….

You know the kind I mean?

The kind of salad that probably has more calories than a hamburger and fries?

Yep. That kind of salad!

***This one features candied walnuts, crisp cool apples, avocado,  blue cheese crumbles, warm grilled chicken and lemon poppy seed dressing.

Well, I guess there’s some lettuce in there too — but even with lettuce added it’s seriously pure heaven on a plate!

Yep, this happened #2:

After lunch we had to stop for pies to take home to our hubbies….

Mom’s Pies is always a great choice for all things DESSERT!

They were busy baking and serving…it was impressive to watch

…um yep… pies are a BIG thing in Julian! I brought an apple pie home for hubby because I’m all about doing nice things for people – especially when they’ll probably give me a bite…  😉

It was a great day and lots of fun!  If you haven’t been up to Julian lately, head on up!

(The apples in the orchard are sold out – but the food and atmosphere are still plentiful!)
