Frivolous Friday: Signs of the season

It’s Frivolous Friday!

Thought I would share some of the fun I squeezed in this week (in between all my portrait sessions and retouching work.)

Yep, this happened #1:

Enjoyed a not-so-spooky stroll around the zoo this week – it was fun to see the park all dressed up for the holiday!

I don’t know if I’ll have a chance to go back after dark, so this might just have to do….

Most of the zoo was fun, but what WASN’T fun to see was that most of the zoo’s flamingos are off exhibit due to the risks posed by Avian Flu.

They had a few metal art flamingos scattered around just to mark their place but otherwise it was a sad sight for sure.

Oddly though, the American Flamingos (near the giraffes) WERE on exhibit….what’s with that do you think?

Whatever the reason, those flamingos were out enjoying the sunshine….

Yep.  This Happened #2

The poodle and I are also enjoying the first autumn color in our neighborhood!

And with a sprinkle of morning dew, the effect is marvelous!

And one of the best signs of autumn?

Pumpkin Pie at Costco.  $5.99 for a whole gigantic pie?  YUP!

**And let me give you a tip straight from the lips of my mom:  “FREEZE IT”

Did you know you can freeze slices of that pumpkin pie to enjoy later?

Well, you can – you don’t have to eat all 102 slices of that gigantic Costco pie in a few days (well…unless you want to)

Now you know and you can thank my mom.

Yep.  This happened #3

And speaking of the change in seasons and yummy food, I enjoyed my last harvest from my summer veggies this week…what should I plant for winter?

Bonus points if it’s a delicious veggie that rabbits and squirrels won’t eat….

Here’s one last fun memory from my summer garden – two of my carrots were in a relationship!  hee hee
