Frivolous Friday! The Davis Pizza Company & Citrus Overload

It’s Frivolous Friday!

Thought I would share some of the fun I squeezed in this week (in between all my portrait sessions and retouching work.)

Yep, this happened #1:

The hubs and I have been getting into pizza making!

We don’t have a fancy wood fired pizza oven, but we are having fun perfecting the perfect pizza cooked hot and crispy in our own backyard grill!

It all starts with homemade dough and sauce and all the fixin’s – and since the hubs and I don’t agree on fixings we each ‘do up’ our own half of the pie.

Mine is filled with veggies and the hubs toppings of choice are pepperoni, mushroom and olives….(and just so you know, if a pepper touches his side he might DIE…)We start with a pizza stone super heated on our grill – then we add homemade pizza dough and toppings

And about ten minutes later…..wa-LAAAA it’s a feast!

We think the Davis Pizza Company makes a pretty tasty pie!

Yep, this happened #2:

Pizza isn’t my only new food adventure….

I’ve been obsessed about using up every drop of food and trying new things…so when a Citrus Cake popped up in my feed I had to give it a go….

I’m happy to report it was delish!

It starts off with a layer of beautiful citrus arranged in the bottom of a springform pan….

Then you pour a white cake batter over that and bake…isn’t it beautiful?

I wish you could taste it…

What can I say:  I’m Feeling Blessed!
