Frivolous Friday! Wolf Pup Adventure #8 KQ Ranch

It’s Frivolous Friday!

Thought I would share some of the fun I squeezed in this week (in between all my portrait sessions and retouching work.)

Yep, this happened #1:

The hubs and I took our little Wolf Pup RV camping for adventure #8 – at KQ Ranch near Julian….and…

BE. STILL. MY. HEART. but our site overlooked a horse pasture!

GASP and WOW!

There were three beautiful horses that shared our weekend with us.

I know the gray one was named “Paisley” and I decided to call the other two Dusty and Rusty.  Ha!

But let me back up a bit and tell you that the campground was tucked in the mountains about 5 miles from Julian – right on top of the ridge so could see the desert to the east and the mountains to the west.

Our campsite faced that adorable horse pasture and sweet little country road….

In addition to horses, we saw a lot of other wildlife from our campsite – the woodpeckers were especially showy

And they have been BUSY!

We saw lots of rabbits…

And were so pleased to see deer during our morning walk and again after dinner munching around the horse pasture….The park had lots of things to do from fishing, to r/c car racing, to swimming in their big ole pool – some of the more unique things to do were miniature golf, frisbee golf and panning for gold!

And they had special campsites with horse corrals all set up to bring your horse camping with you — I didn’t know that was a thing but it makes sense!

We left our herd at home 😉 and just brought our camping poodle!  😉

You probably already know this, but the camping poodle and I love to walk!

Our favorite time to walk is in time to watch the sun rise.  We think an early morning walk is a blessing all day long!

So we woke up before the sun to climb the hill and be treated to some amazing and colorful views!

This is looking east toward Warner Springs and the Banner Grade….

I seem to have a photographic love affair with barbed wire….don’t know what it is but I always want to capture it.

Maybe it’s the juxtaposition of danger next to beauty?

This guy didn’t seem to mind the wire at all though.

Campers kept treating the horses to carrots and apples…so they were super friendly and welcoming to everyone!

Awww…..and they were velvety soft!

If we were fisher-people we would have spent some time at the fishing pond….but we weren’t so we just admired the views….

What can I say:  I’m Feeling Blessed!

And do you know what else I’m blessed by?     Capturing amazing moments for you to treasure for a lifetime!
