Frivolous Friday! Me as a Super Hero & a Crazy Stroll Around Comicon

It’s Frivolous Friday!

Thought I would share some of the fun I squeezed in this week (in between all my portrait sessions and retouching work.)

Yep, this happened #1:
Went to Comic Con disguised as Super Photographer! (It’s my annual tradition and I was glad to be back!)
I didn’t have a ticket to Comic-Con, but wanted to soak in the atmosphere…

so I zipped (um I mean FLEW – like a bird, like a plane, etc) downtown to check out our amazing city during the most exciting week of the year!

I arrived in the early morning and just walked around – exploring and seeing what amazing-ness was visiting San Diego…and why not wear a bit of a costume….??

And did I mention my Super Dog wanted to dress up too? (He kept the fun going from home.)

I’m pleased to report that our city was in fine form…except for the ‘construction’ at Bob’s Burgers. 😉

Even the Hilton was in costume! 😉

Everything was colorful, bright and fun even though I have absolutely NO IDEA who (or what?) this guy is…. lol

I love it when people stop and give me a great pose!

The crowds were light in the early morning, but it didn’t take long for the crowds to pack in….

(Side note, Harbor Drive is closed to cars – I like to arrive near the airport and then scoot along Harbor Drive to park behind Seaport Village.)

People had fun even waiting in lines!

Strike a pose!

Parking was easy and free since I was there early in the morning and just planned to stay a couple hours – but arriving by pirate ship is an easy way to stay out of traffic… 😉

And I’ll let you decide if us superheroes stopped off at the Pop Up Donut Bar…..

It was fun to stroll around and soak in the city!

I photographed this because of Mickey – but after I got home and looked at the photo on my large computer monitor I noticed the S.W.A.T. team on the roof – that makes me glad to see we are prepared!

Giant sandcastle? Yes, please!

I’m not a big comic book, TV or movie person so I had no knowledge of most of the characters and shows – but even I knew COOKIE MONSTER!

Saw a million and one other fun things — here’s a quick glimpse…

There were lots of instagrammable sets all ready for fans to photograph

And of course I recognized Franklin from Peanuts comics! So I knew TWO things of the million I looked at….lol.

No cars on Fifth Avenue either – makes for some lovely strolling around!

**Side note: I would love to see Fifth Avenue be pedestrian only PERMANENTLY! #SDCItyCouncil

All in all, I was downtown for about two hours and had a whole day’s worth of fun! I hope you will take some time to go check it out – no convention ticket needed!

What can I say, I’m feeling blessed!

And do you know what else I’m blessed by?     Capturing amazing moments for you to treasure for a lifetime!
