Frivolous Friday! Wolf Pup RV Adventure #7 Dixon Lake

It’s Frivolous Friday!

Thought I would share some of the fun I squeezed in this week (in between all my portrait sessions and retouching work.)

Yep, this happened #1:

Adventure time again!  Yay!

The hubs and I squeezed in a teeny little vacay in our Wolf Pup RV. and of course I’m bringing you along…cuz you will make the trip more fun!

Since we could only carve out a weekend and didn’t want to waste our “relaxing time” on the commute we stayed close to home.

We camped at Dixon Lake in Escondido – and it felt like a world away!

Our campsite was large and unique in that we had a mountain-high view of the city – how fun is that?

We really enjoyed the eagle’s view!

Oh.  And the camping poodle came along….he added to the view…  😉

If you’ve never been to Dixon Lake – please put it on your ‘To Do List” for a stroll, a picnic, an entire day or camping for the weekend!

There really is something for everyone.

They have a few docks for fishermen….

There’s a really nice picnic area – some spaces can be reserved in advance, and some are first come first served…

And a nice playground for the kiddos.

Flash, the Camping Poodle, and I like to get up early – grab coffee and hit the trails – this time we were rewarded with some amazing views!

And one other thing I’ll point out in this photo -do you see the cars and tents nestled in the hillside?

Well each site is unique and separate – so you get lots of privacy and wilderness ‘feels’

Here’s an up close view of a campsite with an amazing view of the lake – another unique thing is each campsite has a wooden cupboard to store your food – so you don’t have to worry about animals stealing your marshmallows….  😉

See what I mean by secluded?   It just feels so far from the city when it’s just a short drive from home….!

Here’s yet another campsite with some amazing views (and it’s own private driveway!)

The park is SUPER well maintained and really beautiful – we had to stop for a selfie with the butterfly mural!

We did see some wildlife  – not all of these but some!

This amazing blue-colored Lupine was bright and beautiful!

Speaking of color – they rent fun and colorful boats – motor boats and paddle boats!

There are lots of beautiful places to walk, hike and enjoy – we would definitely camp here again!

Yep, this happened #2:

Of course we ate lots of yummy things – but I especially wanted to tell you about these new

Pillsbury Cherry Filled Crescents…

– they really tasted like a cherry Danish fresh from the oven – AND they were easy so we will buy them again!
