Frivolous Friday! Sunny Daffodils & Sweetness on Pi Day
It’s Frivolous Friday!
Thought I would share some of the fun I squeezed in this week (in between all my portrait sessions and retouching work.)
Yep, this happened #1:
Spent a gloriously sunny Pi Day in Julian! (Enjoying the daffodils AND getting a pie, OF COURSE!)
I love Julian in the spring as much as I love it in the fall!
Did you know the entire town is just filled with flowers?
The Julian Daffodil Project was started by Sally Snipes in 1990 as a memorial to her father Jack Snipes.
Now there are 4 million bulbs planted in Julian!
FOUR MILLIION!!!
This weekend is the official Daffodil Festival – there are flower shows, fun activities for the kiddies, pick-you-own daffodil fields and the chance to see lots of daffodils in their natural habitat….lol
Spotted this sweet spider enjoying one of the daffodils too.
And how awesome is it that he was right next to a sparkly dew drop?
Couldn’t have planned that better myself.
And the fruit trees are blooming too!
Yep, this happened #2:
We were hungry. So we stopped where we ALWAYS stop, the Julian Cafe.
Usually I have the apple salad but this time the Chicken and Waffles was calling my name.
And who can resist a piece of PIE on Pi Day? NOT ME
(And trust me I took home a lot of leftovers – so lunch the next day was AMAZING too!)
