Frivolous Friday! Wedding Dress Shopping with my Future Daughter In Love

It’s Frivolous Friday!

Thought I would share some of the fun I squeezed in this week (in between all my portrait sessions and retouching work.)

Yep, this happened #1:

Just got back from making a lifetime memory!

My future daughter-in-love invited me to join her sisters and mom WEDDING DRESS SHOPPING.

Can you absolutely STAND IT?

I was so honored, happy, heart warmed, elated, overjoyed, giddy, amazed, over the moon, etc (I could go ON and ON!)

I’m still on cloud-9 and I’ve been home for five days.

This is my sweet DIL, Shelby – she and my Matt are getting married on a Caribbean cruise in 2023!

We all flew to Philadelphia and enjoyed a girls weekend in the city – there were lots of surprises all along the way

Like these gorgeous cookies her sweet mom brought (and they were as delicious as they were beautiful!)

and oh.my.gosh. I got to be part of TEAM BRIDE!

We had fun activities throughout the weekend (including theatre tickets, wonderful food and mani/pedis!)

AND we visited three wedding dress shops!

True story:  I’ve never seen so many beautiful gowns in my life – I honestly do not know how brides can choose!

The wedding dress shops were beautifully designed and merchandised and of course were bursting at the seams with different styles of wedding gowns;

from short to long, white to colors, formal to casual and everything in between.

Want to know which one she chose?

Well…..sorry to say, but you all are going to have to wait until after the wedding to see what she picked…😛 ….but TRUST ME when I say, you will LOVE IT and she will look stunning in it!

Decisions, decisions…..  😉

Reflections of FUN!

I also strolled around looking at their bridesmaid and Mother of the Groom dresses…a million options for those too.

Any thoughts about what I should wear?   I need advice!

My hubby thinks I have plenty of beautiful dresses already and I should pick one of those…lol. (Bless his little heart….!

So PLEASE help me not have to grab a dress from my closet!  😉

As I mentioned, we didn’t only shop on our girls weekend, we also enjoyed some quality and fun conversation, laughs, giggles and cocktail hour views on the roof top patio of our airBnB….

And true story, we soaked in the views by day and night!

We ate a lot of amazing things….

And they treated me to a birthday cake because the weekend happened to be during my birthday, wasn’t that sweet of them?

Yep, this happened #2:

The hubs and I added an extra day to our vacation so we could visit with Matt and Shelby a bit more….

we enjoyed a lovely stroll through the forest…

And fun fact, this photo was captured from a video – I set my iPhone on the ground (propped up with a twig and turned on video.)

OOPSIES:  Here’s my first ‘take’ which focused on the first 4 inches of the scene only….lol!  But good focus on a shoe….right?

I loved seeing spring’s arrival on the east coast…and spoiler, it’s way more colorful!

Even the trees were bursting with blossoms!

And the forest floor was covered with new growth….

And random flowers are everywhere!

Even daffodils in the middle of the forest – how amazing is that?

Yep, this happened #3:

But that’s not all – I also met George Washington at Valley Forge!  GASP!

The hubs and I did a little sightseeing and checked out Valley Forge – they have a great museum, movie and then audio driving tour….

The route crossed a covered bridge built in 1865!

And we just can’t be on the east coast without having lunch at Cracker Barrel.

****Fun fact – Pennsylvania requires verification of your vaccine card before you enter a restaurant so this was the first meal the hubs and I have eaten in a restaurant in two and a half years!

(In my lifetime I would never have guessed I’d be saying that!)

How’s this for a nutritious lunch of chicken and dumplins’?

(Please rest assured I didn’t eat everything – a lot went home to enjoy later)

And all to soon we were landing in San Diego and a big lifetime memory was treasured up in my heart!
