Frivolous Friday: Gratitude, Embrace & Hugging a Polar Bear

It’s Frivolous Friday!

Thought I would share some of the fun I squeezed in this week (in between all my portrait sessions and retouching work.)

Yep, this happened #1:

Here.  These are for you!  (I couldn’t resist getting you a little something!)

The new year has found me feeling overwhelmed with gratitude and I wanted to say thanks to you all!

Thank you for faithfully scrolling through my photos and posts, liking and commenting to boost engagement,

referring me to your friends and coworkers and THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR asking me each and every year to capture your family’s memories!

WITHOUT YOU this little business of mine wouldn’t be here.

So, thank you!

I wish you a beautiful year full of love and laughter.  Let’s head into 2022 with optimism and make it the best year yet!

And speaking of making this year the best, I’ve chosen my Theme for the year and …drumroll please… it’s “EMBRACE

(I made this little watercolor poster to hang on my bulletin board to remind me that I’m striving to be in the moment and live my life mindfully.)

*Side note – I’ve been choosing a one word theme each year for the past five years or so and it really works for me.

I am a firm believer in always trying to improve and the idea of choosing a one word resolution helps me focus ALL my choices for the year.

I did cheat a little this year and add a subheading to my one word but since I make up the rules it’s okay to break them….. I think a theme is easier and more effective than setting individual

goals in every area of life and it also keeps you ready when life throws a curve ball!

What are your resolutions or theme for the year?

So in keeping with my “Embrace” theme I went all in when I decided to do a little after dinner reading this week:  and that involved tea, cookies and a crackling fire.

(And I only ate one cookie….I promise!….I’m also EMBRACING good health!)

Yep, this happened #2:

I couldn’t resist a stroll through the Flowerhill Promenade Mall in Del Mar to see what their fun winter decorations looked like.

(We zipped over first thing in the morning when they were just opening so it wouldn’t be crowded….cuz EEK!)

The mall decorating team didn’t disappoint – I got to play with a polar bear!

And their color scheme and decor just added a fun vibrant touch to the day….

Isn’t this color palette beautiful?   I may have to copy this in my garden!

And speaking of copying, I definitely need a giant JOY in my yard too!

The mall updates the colors and plants in this fun art piece every season and it always makes me drool – so fun!!!
