Frivolous Friday! Travel (kinda!) & Other Challenges

It’s Frivolous Friday!

Thought I would share some of the fun I squeezed in this week (in between all my portrait sessions and retouching work.)

Yep, this happened #1:

Well, at five months in, how are you doing on your New Year’s Resolutions?

I’m actually keeping the three I set.  (Can someone please give me a gold star?)  😉

*One resolution was to walk 5 miles and do some weight-lifting everyday; my second resolution was to read at least 21 minutes a day and my third resolution was to do a weekly photo theme challenge – just to keep my creativity and my camera skills sharp!

This week’s Photo Challenge was “Travel” and that started to make me sad because of missed vacations, but then I decided to buck-up and celebrate Travel!

First up: me getting ready for my two little get-aways this summer – one camping at the beach and one in a cabin in Sequoia National Park!

…so me and my little purple suitcase ARE going to be travelling a teeny bit in 2021!

And me getting to RE-LIVE past trips with my photos

I always design a photo book after every vacation so we get to easily reminisce and we never forget all the fun!

This book was from our Mediterranean cruise vacay five years ago!

And I’m also getting to celebrate “Travel” with a super fun gift that my Matt sent me for Mother’s Day –  he had whole assortment of Turkish treats delivered right to my door!

(Whenever we travel to a foreign country, we love to stroll through shops and try new foods – so this was a perfect way to remember our trip to Turkey!)

Here are a few more of my Photo Challenges from the first months of 2021:

Theme:

“My View”

How cool is this art installation? Go for a walk on Coronado Island and you will see it!

Photo Challenge theme:

“Treat yourself:”

Photo Challenge theme:

“Winter”

Photo Challenge theme:

“Flowers”

What caught my eye specifically in this scene is that you can see the top and profile of each flower!

And one more for my Flower theme…a bounty of beauty!

And I love how this flower is busting out of jail…beauty will prevail!

Photo Challenge theme:

“Hearts”

And believe it or not, this was EXACTLY the way I spotted it in the street during my morning walk!  Talk about a sweet find!

This heart is on the trail up Black Mountain

Photo Challenge theme:

“Childhood”

Photo Challenge theme:

“Breathtaking”

Photo Challenge theme:

“Orange”
