Frivolous Friday! Feeling SO thankful!

It’s Frivolous Friday!

Thought I would share some of the fun I squeezed in this week (in between all my portrait sessions and retouching work.)

Yep, this happened #1:

The Covid-19 Vaccine is in me and I am so happy!

Ever notice that some things fill your heart ALL the way up? This was one of them.

I was teary eyed the whole time with relief and gratitude for everyone who was part of the grand humanitarian and scientific effort:

the scientists, the doctors and nurses (including my nurse, Priscilla, from the Ramona CVS who is my new best friend! 😛 )

I’m also thankful for the volunteers, the other people trusting the system enough to get vaccinated and the government officials who got this so organized.

I feel so excited to be one step closer to being safer for myself and others.

There are so many people I can’t wait to hug and I want to GO PLACES!  🙂  [We’re not there yet, but we’re getting closer… ]

I’m so thankful to have the privilege of having it now be my turn and I’m grateful that I won’t be spreading covid to any of my clients, newborns, brides, grandmas, friends, relatives, essential workers, etc, etc, ETC.

Thank God. Really, thank you God!

And if you are in any way concerned about the safety of the vaccine, rest easy knowing that the technologies used to develop the COVID-19 vaccines have been years in development to prepare in advance for outbreaks of infectious viruses

and it’s not scientifically possible to get covid from the vaccine.

HERE’s a great article with more information and HERE’s another that debunks a lot of myths that you might have seen.

Please post YOUR vaccine photo in comments so I can cheer for you too!

Yep, this happened #2:

I was also thankful this week for our little bit of rain, so I made sure to go play in it!

(And yes, I really did walk my 5 mile route in my raincoat in the drizzle because I didn’t want to break my workout streak!)

I also played a bit in the rain with my camera….

Is there anything better than raindrops on roses….?

Even the mist and gloom was beautiful….

Yep. This happened #3

I’m also thankful for our wonderful neighbors who are always kind, friendly and fun, but this week they surprised us with an amazing gift bag of yumminess.

One of their gifts was a fruit we’d never tried before:  Korean Singo Pears.

A Korean Pear is the love child of a green apple and a Bosc pear — round, bigger than typical pears, with a crisp, sweet, white interior with a brownish-yellow skin.

It’s hard and crisp when ripe, not like other pears that must soften to be ripe.

I did a little research and discovered they are good in any salad where you might use chopped apples as well as sliced for a snack.

They come packaged beautifully because they are apparently very pampered produce:

They are grown purposefully with fewer pears per branch,

they wear little jackets while they are still on the tree (ensuring thin, smooth, perfect skin),

are coddled on the packing line, and are encased in different little jackets for shipping and displaying in the store.

These pears have better outerwear than I do!

First thing I did was make a fruit salad with one of them….and it was so good!  They add a wonderful little crunch and sweetness!

Then I did some googling for unique recipes and couldn’t resist trying “Panino with Brie and Pears” oh my was that ever tasty!

Yay for trying a new food!!!  What “new” fruit would you suggest I try next?
