Frivolous Friday! Love is in the air! Supreme Craftiness, Poodles and Valentine Sweetness
It’s Frivolous Friday!
Thought I would share some of the fun I squeezed in this week (in between all my portrait sessions and retouching work.)
Yep, this happened #1:
I am excited about Valentine’s Day! I am an elementary school teacher at heart (did you know that? Yep – taught 4th and 5th grades before Matt was born!)
Anywhoooo…I just ADORE celebrating any special day that rolls around – so I’ve been decorated and ready since mid January!
Even got the poodles all dolled up for the holiday too….(Keep scrolling for an outtake of our portrait session)
This is what happens when you are 14 years old and are trying REALLY hard to smile for mommy’s camera!“Cheeseeeeeessssse….”
And, btw, photo shoots are exhausting…even if they are only 4 minutes long….! 🙂
Yep, this happened #2:
Well, doggy photo shoots weren’t the only thing I was up to in preparation for Valentine’s Day…..
I scrolled around pinterest and found two craft projects that caught my eye.
One was a success and one I think was a pinterest fail. 😛
First – here’s my stick bouquet that I think came out cute – it’s just a few paper roses, paper hearts and a butterfly glued to some branches.
It’s bringing me a lot of joy I can tell you!
My other pinterest project was a present for the Hubs and was supposed to be chocolate covered strawberry HEARTS…
…but my hearts are definitely not as beautiful as the pinterest inspiration…my chocolate was too thick and bumpy.
(But honestly I didn’t feel like melting shortening to mix with my beautiful chocolate to thin it out…ewww….so thick it will be!)
Do the strawberries look like hearts to you? Are we going to call it okay or Pinterest FAIL?
(And either way he loved it and and they were delish!)
And that’s not all that was festive this week!
I made some Truffles for my sweetie too….(let me know if you want the recipe* – they are super easy!)
*Bear not included…. 😉
And of course Valentine candy is a must!
Yep. This happened #3
My friends and I had a “Gal”entine’s Party!
Galentine’s Day, which falls on February 13th is a “celebration of female friendship” popularized in 2010 on the TV show “Parks and Recreation.”
It’s Ladies celebrating Ladies – and we had a lovely time – we dressed festively, brought snacks and laughed the whole time – have I mentioned how thankful I am for zoom?
(Click if you want to see the Galentine’s clip from the TV show)
And finally, how sweet is this little piece of tree bark I found on the sidewalk during my walk yesterday? Wasn’t this a lucky find?
Yep – clearly love is in the air and I hope you are feelin’ it too!
What can I say: I’m Feeling Blessed!
