Frivolous Friday: Coyote Bonding and Autumn Bursting Around Me

It’s Frivolous Friday!

Thought I would share some of the fun I squeezed in this week (in between all my portrait sessions and retouching work.)

Yep, this happened #1:

Encountered a coyote and lots of other amazing creatures while hiking at Lake Hodges!

Isn’t he or she beautiful?

***And lest you worry about my safety:  I will let you know I was about 150 feet away, so don’t worry.

-Luckily I had my LONG, professional zoom lens with me so it only looks like I was standing right there!

Side note – that zoom lens is the same one I bring to weddings so I can zoom in on the bride and groom’s expressions from the back of the aisle!

(So you’ll never see me running up and down the aisle or crawling behind the altar – I promise to be a photo ninja at your wedding – but it will LOOK LIKE I was 5 feet away!)

And side, side note – doesn’t my coyote have nice white teeth?

The better to eat you with my dear….oh sorry…got lost in a fairytale for a second….

Back to Lake Hodges though, aren’t we so lucky to have an amazing treasure just a few miles away from us!

From birds to coyotes and insects to flowers – this park has it all.

Yep, this happened #2:

I was in my home office retouching portraits (as Rihanna would put it, this time of year it’s “werk, werk, werk, werk, werk”)

when I suddenly decided I badly needed a piece of pumpkin pie…just like that I. Needed. PIE.

So during my lunch break I whipped up a batch of my favorite and super easy Pumpkin Pie Tartlets.

45 minutes later I was eating this.

YUM-O!  They don’t have crust so these muffin-sized pumpkin ‘pies’ are only 100 calories each!

I’ll post the recipe in the comments below because you have got to try them.

Yep, this happened #3:

Autumn is bursting out all over the place in my neighborhood and I’m loving it!

We have some of the best color in San Diego I think!

These are Liquid Amber trees and they are so beautiful this time of year!

And I always go out of my way to step on a crunchy leaf – how about you?

And how sweet is this teeny little autumn sweetness – sitting in the palm of my hand!

WHY does this leaf get to grow all by itself right out of the trunk of the tree?

How come he gets to skip having a branch?

What’s with that?

Today I super appreciate Autumn Colors – rich orange, dark reds with deep brown and splashes of yellow and the sound of the leaves crunching as you walk on them…

What can I say:  I’m Feeling Blessed!

And do you know what else I’m blessed by?     Capturing amazing moments for you to treasure for a lifetime!
