Frivolous Friday: A Mountain High
It’s Frivolous Friday!
Thought I would share some of the fun I squeezed in this week (in between all my portrait sessions and retouching work.)
Yep, this happened #1:
Enjoyed a quick getaway to the mountains this week…. can you believe it was my last open weekend until December? EEK!
So we took advantage of the freedom, grabbed the poodles and hit the road.
And even though we had to fight Friday traffic, we were so glad we went – look how beautiful it was!
We hadn’t been up the mountain since our Racoon Adventure last January (which was a lifetime ago!)
HERE if you missed that story….
We completely missed Spring and Summer but were thankful that we got to see Autumn in all it’s glory!
I love walking in the mountains, whether it’s out on a hiking trail or just around the neighborhood.
There are always unique and amazing things to see.
This time I happened upon Chipmunk Drive! (Is that the cutest street name ever?)
Chipmunk Drive had lots of other things that made me smile….
Including a SWING!
I was sorely tempted to first go for a joy ride on that swing and then second run across that sweet little bridge pretending I was the Three Billy Goats Gruff,
but alas it was in someone’s yard so I restrained myself and just took a photo instead…
Yep, this happened #2:
We drove over to Lake Arrowhead Village for a stroll.
It was as beautiful as ever!
We made some new friends….
and played Duck, Duck, GOOSE! 😉
And just soaked in all that glorious mountain air!
Yep, this happened #3:
While I was enjoying my R&R on the balcony of the cabin, with coffee and two poodles, I had a funny interaction with a squirrel
HERE is the video – he gave a tap, tap to me as if to say don’t come any closer!
The poodles and I also did some thinking, some relaxing and some reading….
One of the things I read was an article about how the Covid Pandemic has made us shift our priorities and I thought there was a lot of truth to it.
Here are some noteworthy points of the article – tell me if you agree with this:
- Family has become more important and people are shifting back toward their core values.
- American Consumers are feeling out of control so we are turning our attention to small areas we can control like our personal environment (home decor.)
- There’s growing interest in supporting Small Businesses (thank you!)
I think these three points are causing a flourishing interest in my photography too:
We want family portraits to hang on the walls of our home and to share with grandparents.
We are clamoring for keepsakes to be enjoyed for generations
We realize the importance of family and want to celebrate that with art for our home!
And that’s why I’m so busy booking fun family portrait sessions but I saved a spot just for you–seriously, JUST. FOR. YOU! I have your name all penciled in but I’d love to make that ink instead… ;-):-))
What can I say: I’m Feeling Blessed!
And do you know what else I’m blessed by? Capturing amazing moments for you to treasure for a lifetime!
