Frivolous Friday: A Socially Distanced Adventure in La Jolla
It’s Frivolous Friday!
Thought I would share some of the fun I squeezed in this week (in between all my portrait sessions and retouching work.)
Yep, this happened #1:
My adventure pal and I decided this was the week we might try to get out of our own homes for a very safe, socially distanced adventure.
We planned carefully because we are both taking this virus very seriously! We settled on meeting in La Jolla for a walk and then eating a take away lunch at the park.
We wore our masks the entire time and even though we were a little hot we had so much fun!
***So yes, in case you were in doubt – you can have fun while wearing a mask, so PLEASE wear a mask: [that’s a little public service reminder from me…]
We did some window shopping – but didn’t go in any stores…..
Admired some street art and beautiful gardens….
And in general just enjoyed the sights and conversation.
There’s always interesting things to see!
We kept our eyes out for a cute little spot to buy lunch and stumbled upon Girard Gourmet.
We spoke to the owner who told us the cafe and bakery was 34 years old!
They have lots of bakery treats, salads, sandwiches and things you might serve for dinner.
I ordered the Chicken Curry Salad with beets, papaya, almonds and chutney.
And we ate it with a view of the waves crashing on the cliffs below us – soooooo good!
(It was so good that by the next day I was craving that same salad again and lightly considered driving back over there….yep…that kind of good!)
Yep, this happened #2:
Well after lunch we strolled around the cove to see the sea lions – we saw so many babies!
(And rest assured that this is zoomed in – I definitely wouldn’t go down on the sand to scare the babies!)
The older sea lions were snoozing in the sun while the babies played!
What can I say: I’m Feeling Blessed!
