Frivolous Friday: Guess Who is Graduating? It’s a week long celebration!!!

It’s Frivolous Friday!

Thought I would share some of the fun I squeezed in this week (in between all my portrait sessions and retouching work.)

Yep, this happened #1:

I’ve been celebrating Class of 2020 Graduates ALL WEEK!

This has been such an exciting week for so many young people in our community – and I’ve been so honored to help with some of their celebrating!

First of all, my church’s Children’s Board of Ministry (which I’m honored to serve on) designed a day of celebration for all our Seniors.

We organized a car parade in our church parking lot!   Each graduate was assigned a socially distant parking space on the lot and

the entire congregation drove by honking, cheering and blessing those kids!    I was lucky enough to be there to help with the planning and then photograph everything (so the kids and parents will have some memories to cherish forever)

Let me tell you, I alternated between a big ole goofy smile on my face and wanting to burst into tears of happiness – if you know what I mean?

Each graduate got a fun lawn sign, a goody bag and a space to decorate..

Our pastors also had a word of welcome and advice to the grads before the parade– in a Socially Distanced, but Super Heartfelt way…

And then it was time to BRING ON THE CARS!    Honk, honk!

These are just a few – the gallery has a couple hundred photos!

(And side note, I’m pretty sure the drivers had as much fun as the graduates!!!  Woot!

Yep, this happened #2:

Aren’t you just loving all the fun graduation signs that have popped up in our neighborhood front yards?   They have made my daily walks so much fun!

And this week I had a brainstorm:     As I walked by each house I said a quick prayer of blessing to each graduate.

And  you know what?  Just doing that blessed me as much as I hope it blessed them.  Here are a few of the houses I strolled by and if you are on my route, you’ve been BLESSED!  🙂

Yep, this happened #3:

I also had the pleasure this week to welcome back my Sweet Life Seniors for a Free Cap and Gown Studio Portrait!

I think this formal, studio headshot is the perfect compliment to their outdoor portraits we captured at the park or the beach earlier this year so it’s my pleasure to do this.

I usually photograph these in my Home Studio – but in the interest of Social Distancing, I masked-up and set-up my complete studio in my open garage!

I think the results were just as beautiful!

If you didn’t already know about my FREE portrait sessions, you probably aren’t getting my once a month e-newsletter….just comment or PM me to sign up.

That’s where I announce all my completely FREE portrait sessions – and they happen three times a year!

And I don’t know if this portrait makes me want to hug them in sympathy or give them a big thumbs up…but it’s definitely part of the story~!

Here are a few of my favs but Congrats to all my Sweet Life Seniors!!!!

Well, if you read the title of this Frivolous Friday post (” Guess Who’s Graduating!”)

You might still be wondering WHO am I talking about…?

And I’m almost ready to spill the beans….but first a snack!

I made some cupcakes to celebrate – and made them extra festive with some sprinkles, my cupcake tower, some old decorations I’ve saved and some printable cupcake toppers.

It’s amazing how much fun you can create with a box of cake mix and some sprinkles, isn’t it?  And don’t even get me started on how much fun it will be to EAT these….!  Nom nom

And here’s the answer to the question:

I AM GRADUATING  up to the Class of 2021~!!!   ][cue the roar of the crowd!!!]

Yep – I’m already booking the Class of 2021 for this summer and along those lines, may I ask you a HUGE FAVOR?

If you know any parents of next year’s seniors I’d be so grateful if you would, pretty please with sugar,

spread the word that I’m super experienced and ready to capture some Fun and Fabulous Family Portraits!

As a little bitty small business I thank you from the bottom of my heart.  (And yes, my heart is FOR SURE in this!)

So thank you OH SO MUCH for tagging them or sending them my website:  www.SavoringTheSweetLife.com

***And can you also let the Class of 2021 know they don’t have to buy the stale ole yearbook photos?   The yearbook studios always have free packages!

You just need to grab the required yearbook photo for free and then you can meet me at the beach, park, forest or somewhere else fun for the Senior portraits they really want! (of course family is included FREE)

What can I say:  I’m Feeling Blessed!

And do you know what else I’m blessed by?     Capturing amazing moments for you to treasure for a lifetime!
