Frivolous Friday: Playing with my food and a Recipe from my Hubby to YOU!

It’s Frivolous Friday!

Thought I would share some of the fun I squeezed in this week…

Yep, this happened #1:

As I’ve mentioned before I’m using  some of my free time to take online classes – I just love learning new things – I am TRULY a lifelong learner!

One branch of photography that I am particularly interested in but haven’t practiced much is Food Photography –  so I had fun taking lots of new classes about FOOD!

I’m calling these two Lemon and Strawberry Fizz!

I made these images by putting a piece of scrapbook paper behind a square vase filled with sparkling water.  I backlit the bubbles with FOUR studio lights! (One light on each side of the vase angled from behind them and two lights near the camera to really make the bubbles pop!

Here’s how I set up the lighting for the FIZZes

And for your viewing pleasure, a little series I’m calling  “Sunday Morning”

I wish I’d thought to photograph a behind the scenes version of this – but I’ll let you in on a little secret – the marble table top was contact paper on a piece of wood and the back wall is white posterboard!

And in case you were wondering, YES,  after I was finished with the pancake photo session, I rewarmed the pancakes, fried up some bacon and we enjoyed breakfast for lunch!

Not a single drop of syrup or a blueberry was wasted!  YUM!

“Reading time with some fun”

“Corn Bread Meets Wild Maine Blueberry Jam”

And I also photographed some food in a more shadowy “Moody” style:

“Tangerine”

“Dark Chocolate”

(Happened to have this chocolate in the cupboard from Christmas – score!)

Wish you could smell this…heavenly

And lastly, a recipe for you, courtesy of my hubby.

Here’s the final photograph of his creation – keep scrolling for his custom recipe:

He invented a ‘Cold Stone Creamery’ solution to spiff up the last inch of vanilla ice cream…

To quote his sister,  after I texted her this photo: “I want to come quarantine at your house”  😛

Let’s just say we aren’t wanting during lock down…..

What can I say:  I’m Feeling Blessed!

And do you know what else I’m blessed by?     Capturing amazing moments for you to treasure for a lifetime!
