Frivolous Friday: Spring in my own backyard & Online Learning
It’s Frivolous Friday!
Thought I would share some of the fun I squeezed in this week (in between all my portrait sessions and retouching work.)
Yep, this happened #1:
Played around with my camera this week!
I’ve made a pact with myself to pick up my camera EVERY SINGLE DAY!
And also I’m keeping my mind sharp and my days filled with online classes.
The true story is I am seriously a lifelong learner – there’s nothing I enjoy more than learning new things. So I’m treating my home lock down as a gift of time to educate myself.
From books to documentaries, webinars to conferences and everything in between – I have a great thirst for learning and I’m trying to quench it this month.
This is my online learning space – my beautiful custom office desk built by my hubby.
*HERE is the story of the office-redo from a few years ago if you are interested.
(And in case you were wondering, all the extra keyboards on my desk are not for Gaming – I have each extra button programmed to help me retouch photos…I’m all about technology and efficiency!
I just finished an online photography class called “Product Photography: Lay Flats”
In case you didn’t know, a”Lay flat” is a photograph taken from directly above, with the subjects staged in a pleasing way.
(I think this skill will cross over to photographing a Bride’s beautiful wedding day details….don’t you?)
Here’s my Savoring The Sweet Life Photography stationary styled with some of my lilacs and my special PURPLE pen….
and one more Lay Flat with my flowers and a cup of tea….
Yep, this happened #2:
I’m using my garden as inspiration for my self-assigned homework projects. I have to say, if I have to be home, I’m happy it’s while spring is blooming all around me!
This is my lilac bush in full bloom – and the heavenly scent surrounds you as soon as you step near it…..ahhhh
I wish smell-o-vision was a thing because this smells heavenly!
Even if you don’t have a thing about pink and purple these are beautiful….
I’m obsessed with this one water drop! Can you spot it?
My peach tree is also in full bloom right now….
This is a ‘diete Iridioides’ — did you know it’s blossoms only last one day? Except for this one because thanks to me it’s been captured for FOREVER! (just sayin….lol)
And I’m pretty sure these daisies are smiling!
(And did you notice just a few petals are askew? #StormDamage)
Stay tuned over the next few weeks to see more of my crazy homework and other little projects like this one:
