Frivolous Friday: Walking: 100 years ago and now.

It’s Frivolous Friday!

Thought I would share some of the fun I squeezed in this week (in between all my portrait sessions and retouching work.)

Yep, this happened #1:

First I’m blasting from the past – this was captured two weeks ago (which feels like it was 100 years ago…if you know what I mean)

Back when hiking was encouraged and the trails were open.

Little did I know that would be my last step on a dusty trail for who knows how long….

But Iron Mountain was waiting to be conquered so we conquered it~!

Thought I would share some of the fun since you won’t be able to head up there this week:

In addition to great views from the top and lots of wonderful exercise, we were rewarded during our hike with lots of wildflower sightings!

The mountain lilac is particularly GORGEOUS this time of year!

But that wasn’t all – the hills were alive with color!

And I met a new friend on the trail – this little poodle was wearing hiking boots just like me!

It was so clear we easily saw Catalina Island…

And had views all the way to Mexico!

Here’s the view looking down the trail towards our car – with a great view all the way to the ocean….

and I’ll just mention one more time that our hike was over two weeks ago BEFORE THE SHUTDOWN of the trails

– so don’t try to head up there today!

Yep, this happened #2:

Well, that was last week — here’s how I’m exercising this week.

But don’t despair~!   My pal and I are using technology to ward off loneliness….

We set a start time to walk out of our houses, then use our phones to chat while we walk….it’s not the same as being together, but it makes the walk loads more fun!

What are you doing to squeeze fun into your lock down days…?  I could use more ideas!

Yep.  This happened #3

And lastly,  since we are all about exercise and staying home this week – here are my favorite Energy treats — Easy to make, no baking and only 4 ingredients!

(A great recipe for the kiddos to try!)

Recipe for No Bake Peanut Butter Oatmeal Balls HERE  (You can also add chocolate chips if you want!)

What can I say:  I’m Feeling Blessed!

And do you know what else I’m blessed by?     Capturing amazing moments for you to treasure for a lifetime!
