Frivolous Friday: Talking Pancakes, the Stillness Before Sunrise & Playing Duck, Duck, Goose
It’s Frivolous Friday!
Thought I would share some of the fun I squeezed in this week (in between all my portrait sessions and retouching work.)
Yep, this happened #1:
Noticed that my pancake wanted to speak.
What should I make him/her say? I need a fun idea! Please give me your best suggestion!
The talking pancake is from Franco’s Flapjacks in Poway – we tried this restaurant for the first time to celebrate a birthday – and decided it was wonderful and we would be back!
And let me tell you this, the portions are BOUNTIFUL and YUMMY!
I ordered the green omelette: and it came with two LARGE TALKING pancakes as well as a huge portion of hash browns!
(I could only eat about half of the omelette and took everything else home – I love a good leftover!)
And side note, I added my friend’s coffee mug to this photo because it was so cute (who doesn’t appreciate a restaurant that chooses a fun and beautiful
custom coffee mug rather than a regular ole ugly one?)
I didn’t order coffee myself….any guesses as to what beverage I ordered?
Here’s a word scramble to figure it out: TOEDCIEK
I will pretty much always order this drink (or water) whenever I’m out!
(And lest you think I’m a weirdo – I do LOVE a cup of coffee when I first wake up – but then I’m done with coffee!)
Yep, this happened #2:
Captured this little beauty of a shot about an hour before sunrise this week.
I was at the airport dropping off a friend at 4:45am and I noticed how beautiful the Bay and our city looked –
– so I flipped a U-turn and pulled into the parking lot at the edge of the water. This was captured with my cell phone!
We are so lucky to live in this beautiful place!
Yep, this happened #3:
Enjoyed an amazing walk around Miramar Lake!
We love this place especially when our other hiking trails are muddy – so you will find me here quite a bit in the winter!
Did you know Miramar Dam was built in 1960 and the water comes from both the Colorado River and the California Aqueduct…?
The reservoir has a water depth of 114 feet and the stunning path around it is 4.9 miles.
We always stop to watch the birds enjoying the lake – and everytime I see them I can’t help thinking ‘Duck, Duck, GOOSE!’
So here you go: Duck
And funny story about the Geese at Miramar Lake.
I was there photographing a family portrait session a couple years ago and the geese were strolling around the main walkway.
We saw lots of people walking around them and the geese didn’t care so the family and I started down the path too.
The geese didn’t care at all when me or the mom and kids walked down the sidewalk, but when the dad followed us – the geese started chasing him!
(And I’m talking – SERIOUSLY MAD GEESE – he had to literally RUN to get away from those nasty little beaks all ready to bite!
Thankfully he escaped and made it down the path when a passerby told us “Oh by the way, those geese hate men.” (Um…yikes….)
So if you are a man, you might not want to go play Duck, Duck, Goose at Miramar Lake! 😉
What can I say: I’m Feeling Blessed!
And do you know what else I’m blessed by? Capturing amazing moments for you to treasure for a lifetime!
sessions are an hour long with unlimited poses, unlimited outfits, unlimited fun!
