Frivolous Friday! Poway Christmas Tree, a Tea Party for my Sister & FINALLY Some Autumn Color
It’s Frivolous Friday!
Thought I would share some of the fun I squeezed in this week (in between all my portrait sessions and retouching work.)
Yep, this happened #1:
Had another set of my photographs PUBLISHED!
HERE is their e-newspaper if you want to read the whole story
The newspaper wanted to do a feature article on the beautiful 75 foot tall Poway Christmas Tree – and the tree’s mom and dad, Debbie and Tom,
asked if I would photograph it for the newspaper…OF COURSE!
So I trekked up the hill after dark to capture photos of the tree that’s meant so much to my own family for all these years!
Thanks to Debbie and Tom for this amazing gift!
The tree is dedicated to the Chabad of Poway and Rabbi Goldstein and is designed to look like a Menorah Candle with blues softly fading to white with a sparkling flame on top….
And as I was leaving, I happened to notice this cool reflection in the puddle, so I had to get down on the ground to capture that view too!
And before we move on to my next bit of Frivous-ness… can I just share that not only did the newspaper credit me in print and their e-edition,
they chose my photo to be their facebook cover photo! I’m celebrating for sure!
Yep, this happened #2:
I invited my sister to little Christmas tea party – just the two of us to catch up and savor some sweetness….
We had my favorite Peppermint Tea. ( Fun fact: Every December I buy 4 boxes of this tea to last me the rest of the year!)
Well you can’t have a tea party without food – so I made some cute little sammies and devilled eggs….
And a White Chocolate Peppermint Mousse for dessert — DELISH!
(And yes we nibbled the chocolate off the rim….because why not?)
And I forgot to take a photo of us enjoying it, so you get to see just me (photo a few hours later courtesy of my hubby)
…sorry about that – but sometimes fun is more important than photos of it!
And Side note: can I just say that I LOVE a good Christmas Sweater –
this may qualify as “Ugly” to some people, but not to me!
(This sweater has Penguins on it and a little bell so I jingle when I walk – HA and HO HO HO!!!)
Yep, this happened #3:
I followed directions and STOPPED on a morning walk to admire my own neighborhood BURSTING with autumn color!
Even the regular ole street is beautiful this time of year!
I also took this opportunity to go out of my way to step on some crunchy leaves….yay!
(Winter is just 7 days away so autumn had better get moving don’t you think?)
And thought I would share this observation with you — this is the same tree
One side is orange and red and the other side is only yellow and green…..cool, huh?
What can I say: I’m Feeling Blessed!
And do you know what else I’m blessed by? Capturing amazing moments for you to treasure for a lifetime!
