Frivolous Friday! Cookies, Santa, Christmas Fabulousness & the Beachcomber Cafe
It’s Frivolous Friday!
Thought I would share some of the fun I squeezed in this week (in between all my portrait sessions and retouching work.)
Yep, this happened #1:
I jumped right in to the holiday season with Christmas Cookie Decorating!
My mom, sister and I have made it a Black Friday family tradition – rather than shopping we bake cookies!
In general, we take the easy route – we buy tubes of frosting and let Mrs. Pillsbury help with the cookie dough making….
It was a fun and tasty time and now I have a TON of cookies!
So — if you happen to stop over to my house during the holiday season I’ll be all ready with holiday sweets for you!
Yep, this happened #2:
That wasn’t the only Christmas fun I squished into my week –
– I also ventured up to Orange County to meet up with my AMAZING sister in law to check out the famous Roger’s Garden’s Christmas display and store.
What a beautiful place!
I wish someone had handed me a big ole wad of money when I walked in because there were sooooo many beautiful things I would have loved… but let me tell you stuff was pricey!
So I just enjoyed it, photographed it, and ooo’d over it. (That’s almost as good as bringing something home!)
I couldn’t resist a quick romp in their tree lot….yay!
Met up with Santa there too…..and is it just me or does he seem preoccupied…or completely bored… or is he miffed…or just feeling the stress of the season?
Yep, this happened #3:
After all that strolling around, we were starved. (You knew I was going to say that didn’t you?)
So we headed to the Beachcomber Cafe – which is right on the sand of Crystal Cove. And when I say on the sand I mean ON THE SAND…..seriously the waves were just about crashing on the porch!
This photo sums up a fun fact you might not know about me, I’m always thirsty and probably drink a couple of gallons of liquids every day…
Except for one cup of coffee in the morning, I mostly drink water, but sometimes when I’m out, I treat myself to a diet soda. And I’ve been known to drink 4 or 5 sodas with a single lunch! (Like I said, I’m always PARCHED) 😉
(And those 5 diet cokes are just an occasional splurge – don’t worry about me doing that every day!)
Well, after my second diet coke at the cafe, the waitress brought me a third glass AND a carafe – how funny is that?
Everyone’s gotta have a vice right?
….(tap) (tap) is this thing on???
And I didn’t ONLY have diet coke for lunch….I munched a Moroccan Salad, but my sister in law gave me a taste of her lobster salad sandwich and that was even better!
Next time it will be lobster for sure!
After we enjoyed our lunch and 17 diet cokes (lol and kidding…sorta….) we took a stroll on the beach.
And let me tell you the historic Crystal Cove is adorable and get this: you can rent their cute little historic cabins and have an overnight right there next to the crashing waves – wouldn’t that be amazing?
That is definitely on my bucket list so I’ll be back for sure!
What can I say: I’m Feeling Blessed!
And do you know what else I’m blessed by? Capturing amazing moments for you to treasure for a lifetime!
