Frivolous Friday! Wallaby Love, Tigers, Popcorn for Gorillas and Moonlight
It’s Frivolous Friday!
Thought I would share some of the fun I squeezed in this week (in between all my portrait sessions and retouching work.)
Yep, this happened #1:
Enjoyed a morning walk at Safari Park and of course I brought my big ole zoom lens!
We came upon the sweetest thing mamma and baby cuddles!
Tis is 7 month old Theo and his sweet Wallaby mama.
And I took the liberty of putting them on a different background so they were easier to see and enjoy- what do you think?
*Do you know how to tell the difference between a Kangaroo and a Wallaby?
The most obvious difference between the wallaby and a kangaroo is size. Wallabies are 1 -2 feet tall and kangaroos can grow to heights of 8 feet!
The kangaroo’s legs are built for speed and the wallaby’s more compact legs are built for agility in forested areas.
Another simple way to tell a wallaby and a kangaroo apart is by their coloring. A wallaby’s coat is usually brighter with two to three different colors.
And how beautiful is this Radjah Shelduck? (Also a native of Australia and also in the Walkabout Enclosure)
Splish splash I was takin a bath….
Then we headed over to Tiger Trail to see what we could see….
And then we spotted the Gorillas getting a treat from their zookeepers: POPCORN!
The keepers tossed each gorilla a plastic bottle filled with some straw and some POPCORN!
It was fun to watch them try to get the treats….
Yep, this happened #3:
Enjoyed my final performance of the season at The Moonlight Theatre in Vista…
the evening started with a stellar sunset (as we were parking our car…)
And that sunset morphed into a spectacular evening with a great performance of “Victor Victoria”
And I always try to bring a fancy dessert for us to enjoy during intermission….this time it was New York Cheesecake with fresh blueberries!
Here’s a link to their website if you want to go see the show – there’s still another two weeks left of performances before the season ends.
What can I say: I’m Feeling Blessed!
And do you know what else I’m blessed by? Capturing amazing moments for you to treasure for a lifetime!
