Frivolous Friday! Night at the Nat, Food Trucks and an I-Spy Game for you
It’s Frivolous Friday!
Thought I would share some of the fun I squeezed in this week (in between all my portrait sessions and retouching work.)
Yep, this happened #1:
Enjoyed a visit to the ROOFTOP of the Natural History Museum! How cool is that?
I started planning a visit as soon as I read that the museum’s rooftop bar and grill is open every Thursday and Friday evening this summer!
They call it “The Nat at Night” and it’s a fun evening out!
The view is amazing and you just feel so cosmopolitan to be on a trendy rooftop enjoying the evening….Don’t we look all grown up and hip?
Or something close to that? Please? Anyone???
Admission is half price after 5:00pm, so it’s affordable too. And of course you also get to see all the amazing museum exhibits (without the crowds!)
Yep, this happened #2:
The other fun happening at Balboa Park this summer is Food Truck Fridays!
A few other people from San Diego were also there….but everyone was happy and having a great time, even if while they were waiting in line for food.
Speaking of food, there are lots of yummy Food Truck choices- but since we had already eaten a taco on the Nat’s Rooftop we settled on a cupcake from Lil Miss Short Cakes (they were one of my Food Truck Commercial clients! How fun is that?)
I snarfed down a salted caramel “Carmel by the Sea” cupcake while we listened to the band and people watched –it was the perfect way to end our evening!
Yep, this happened #3:
We finished off our Vacation Bible School this week with a concert for all the parents and a Carnival!!!
First , parents were treated to their amazing kiddos sharing songs and some of the stories they’ve been enjoying this week….
And then it was time for Dinner and the Carnival!!!
The games were invented and staffed by the VBS teachers and volunteers and all the games are simple and fun (from stick hockey to face painting, wet sponge throwing to a wheel of fun and everything in between!)
can I just say something else about this whole carnival that makes me happy – is the kids are playing games for the sake of playing games.
We don’t give out prizes, we just have fun. Does that make your heart happy too?
My favorite “prize” for one of the little games was you got to pick fist bump, high five or a hug WHETHER YOU WON OR LOST.
Is that awesome or what?
And Lucky me, I got to be there to capture all the fun!
It was a whole-lotta hours of work for us 130 volunteers but the blessings FAR outweighed the time commitment. So of course I’ll definitely do it again next year!
Here’s an I-Spy game for you — can you find me in the crowd????
What can I say: I’m Feeling Blessed!
And do you know what else I’m blessed by? Capturing amazing moments for you to treasure for a lifetime!
sessions are an hour long with unlimited poses, unlimited outfits, unlimited fun!
