Frivolous Friday! Me as a Superhero & Christmas!

Yep, this happened #1:

Went to Comic Con disguised as Super Photographer!  (It’s my annual tradition!)

I didn’t have a ticket to Comic Con, but wanted to soak in the atmosphere… so  I zipped (um I mean FLEW – like a bird, like a plane, etc) downtown to check out our amazing city during the most exciting week of the year!

My pal and I arrived in the early morning and just walked around – exploring and seeing what we can see – …and we wear a bit of a costume because… WHY NOT? Our agenda is always the same, arrive around 8:00am, park in the metered lot behind Sea Port Village (it’s completely free parking until 10:00am and then we just walk back and toss a few coins in the meter….easy peasy lemon squeezy!)

And I’m pleased to report that our city was in fine form!

Everything was colorful, bright and fun— even the buildings! This year we bumped into our Mayor (…and three other people who were important enough to be photographed with him but we didn’t recognize…anyone you know?) Had a brush with Death (eek!) I was Interviewed by the news!

Well, not really, but when I asked him for a photo, weatherman Brad Wills was sweet enough to grab his microphone and help me fake it…

…and don’t ask me why I was SO Happy in this photo- I guess a brush with the rich and famous makes me smile extra large?…ha! Oh and I was almost eaten by a 100 foot long SHARK! I saluted the Statue of Liberty who was dressed in her favorite beach wear And saw a million and one other fun things — here’s a quick glimpse:

We also stop and chat with people, because I’m all folksie like that…

I discovered that ‘Marge Simpson’ made her “wig” with bubble wrap and painter’s tape and eyes with a pipe cleaner – how clever is that?

I  love it when I ask if I can take someone’s picture and they stop and prepare the perfect pose: Even our trolly was dressed up!

Chatted with a cute lizard….

And met some of the characters of South Park

Also met a ton of characters I have absolutely no idea who they were, but I can still appreciate a great costume and their enthusiasm! And we met a whole family of Ghostbusters – who were smiling even though they were in the NEXT DAY LINE (gasp!!)

Oh my goodness can you imagine waiting in line for more than 24 hours to see a panel discussion???

And doing it with a SMILE?    Whaaaat?

Then I auditioned for Carpool Karaoke (…not! ….but other people were in the car singing!) And yelled “SHAZAM” to bring out my inner superhero!
And I’ll let you decide if we stopped off at the Pop Up Donut Bar as us superheroes we were walking back to our car…..

And how about this OH SO SWEET Self portrait?

We were downtown for a total of 3 hours and had a whole day’s worth of fun before we flew on home! I hope you will take some time to go check it out – no convention ticket needed!

That wasn’t the only fun I had this week!

I started celebrating Christmas this week!   ….sorta…

We ventured out last Saturday morning to  Hallmark’s “Keepsake Ornament Premiere Celebration.”

It was the grand reveal of over 250 Christmas ornaments – and they are all adorable! And as if that weren’t enough fun,  employees were dressed up as ornaments and served yummy treats! Here are a few of my favs: Hallmark also offers Halloween Ornaments now as well as a Star Wars wreath that would look great for Halloween and Christmas! Here’s a little video with some of the animated ornaments including an amazing Magic Castle:
