Frivolous Friday! Free Portraits, Some Amazing Hikes and My Essentials
It’s Frivolous Friday!
Thought I would share some of the fun I squeezed in this week (in between all my portrait sessions and retouching work.)
Yep, this happened #1:
Had an absolute BLAST this week capturing Free Graduation Cap and Gown Portraits.
(A few times a year I give back to the community with completely FREE portraits – if you want to know about them in advance, PM or email me and I’ll notify you!)
Anywhoo, I got to spend time with so many amazing seniors, hear about the fun they have planned for this week and find out what their plans are for next year.
So much fun!
Here’s a little behind the scenes of my Home Studio – complete with four professional Studio Lights, a formal backdrop, amazing camera and a Photographer Extraordinaire = Me!
And how’s this for some extra sweetness….
One of my senior’s moms emailed me this note:
” Pam- thank you so much for taking my daughter’s picture today! She was thrilled and said “I know they will be good cause she knew what she was doing”!!!
You are a doll and your success shows how much you care …. your talent and generosity are above what anyone could expect!” Thanks, Lynda
Oh my goodness that was my warm fuzzy that will last me all weekend!
Yep, this happened #2:
Had time to squeeze in two fun hikes this week – one at Blue Sky Reserve on that 150 degree Tuesday (don’t care, I can hike in heat!)
And hiked up Iron Mountain yesterday in the cool, misty fog!
We couldn’t see more than 20 feet ahead of us at the beginning of the hike.
But then we hiked up above the mist! If you look closely you can see the teeny little trail in the center where we started our hike!
This is looking west and the marine layer was THICK!
And bless their little heart, there are still wildflowers on the trail!
Yep. This happened #3.
Bought myself a little summer gift this week!
A second insulated water bottle- IN PURPLE of course – so I can have nice cold water all summer long.
(These are so reasonably priced now and Mrs. Amazon made it so easy to find just what I needed and she zipped it right over in less than 24 hours…seriously how did we exist before?)
In case you are at all interested, here are my hiking essentials:
two big bottles of water, my trusty sunhat, sunglasses and hiking boots, sunscreen, sanitizer, SNACKS,
an emergency blanket/mini First Aid Kit, pepper spray, pocket knife, and a sharpie.
Any guesses what the sharpie is for? Take a guess!
The sharpie is in case of Snake Bite!
Did you know you should circle the location of your snake bite and write down the time next to it then draw a circle around the border of the swelling and write down the time.
• Update this info every 15 or 30 minutes as the swelling moves up the limb and your symptoms develop – this will help emergency personal better access your situation.
And guess what? We had our first rattlesnake encounter of the season yesterday on Iron Mountain!
He was stretched out across the trail – but luckily we saw him and waited until he slithered away. Whew – does that ever get the heart pumping!
Can you see him in this photo? He’s well camouflaged for sure and I definitely didn’t want to get any closer!
In case you want to know more about what to do if you are bitten by a rattlesnake, HERE’s a good article in comments.
And do you know what else I’m blessed by? Capturing amazing moments for you to treasure for a lifetime!
