Frivolous Friday! Me almost eaten by a T-Rex, a Warm, Chocolate Croissant and an Amazing & Colorful New Bible

It’s Frivolous Friday!

Thought I would share some of the fun I squeezed in this week (in between all my portrait sessions and retouching work.)

Yep, this happened #1:

Almost got eaten by a T-Rex.

But roared back at him and somehow escaped (whew.)

Why was I so close to a real T-Rex?

I couldn’t resist a final trip to the Roynon Museum of Earth Sciences & Paleontology in Escondido.

They are closing their doors at the end of June due to lack of funding – so we headed up to support them and check things out one last time…..

And I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Roynon (owner/curator/expert) himself.

Can you believe he’s spent the last seven decades of his life building up his collection of fossils?

We talked about the museum closing and he said they need $50,000 a year to keep afloat and are hoping for a benefactor.

(6,000 children visit each year on class field trips!  So clearly there’s a need!)

Go check it out (here’s their website) or better yet, ask your company to sponsor them and save the museum!

Yep, this happened #2:

While we were in Escondido we couldn’t resist stopping by our favorite bakery in the whole wide world:  Cute Cakes!

I chose a scrumptious chocolate croissant (which came WARM….be still my heart…) and slurped up every drop of my cute little pot of Chamomile tea.

YUM and PERFECTION!

Yep, this happened #3:

I made a big decision this week and bought myself a present:  a new Bible!

This was a big decision for me because by ‘starting’ a new Bible I’ll be giving up 20 years of the notes I’ve written in my old one….yikes!

(So can you see why,  as silly as that may seem, it was a hard decision for me?)

The big issue was I wanted thicker pages so it’s easier to read – my old Bible’s pages are so see-through I felt like I was reading both sides of the page at the same time.

Well, I searched for the perfect Bible online (I seriously could not exist without Amazon!)

….and let me tell you I found a Bible even more amazing than I ever imagined!

It’s called “The Beautiful Word Bible” and it fit all my needs AND more….and BONUS:  it has space to COLOR!  (whaaaaat?)

How fun is that?

I don’t think I’ll do a ton of coloring, but it’s fun to have the option!

And there were two other things that helped me decide this was my perfect Bible.

The cover is PURPLE.  (’nuff said!)

But best of all, it has space on every single page for notes.

I am a BIG FAN of journaling and taking notes in my Bible during lessons and sermons.

My pastors [shout out to them!] always add such wonderful insights into scripture I like to write it down.

(I’m a visual learner so writing helps me remember it too.)

And while I’m thinking about it, I’d love to invite you to join me at a church service so you can get some insights too.

My INVITATION to you:
