Frivolous Friday! Los Angeles Adventure
It’s Frivolous Friday!
Thought I would share some of the fun I squeezed in this week (in between all my portrait sessions and retouching work.)
Yep, this happened #1:
Ventured up to Los Angeles for an adventure with my super fun sister in law. We went to see the Costumes from this year’s Academy Awards.
(I’d seen a little advertisement about the exhibition at the Fashion Institute Museum and KNEW I had to see it!)
The museum is amazing – it was filled with costumes from 2018 motion pictures – including many of the Academy Award nominees!
These are from Black Panther, Star Wars, Mary Poppins, Aquaman & RBG…
My fav was the Mary Poppins gown that had hand painted details and shading…it was amazing!
This gown was from the movie Phantom Thread – which won for Best Costume Design at Oscars!
The Costumes for Bohemian Rhapsody took center stage in this display….
Captain America was also pretty amazing – and just seeing the size of the costumes was pretty eye opening as well. Can you believe how tiny Elizabeth Olsen’s waist is?
Yep, this happened #2:
Got hungry. (Duh. We are talking about hungry-all-the-time ME.)
The Museum recommended an amazing little Middle Eastern restaurant nearby. I LOVED my chicken, sundried tomato and pesto panini with a Greek side salad –SO GOOD!
Yep, this happened #3:
After we were fortified with a good meal, we headed for the LA Fashion District. If you’ve never been, get in your car and GO right now – it’s amazing!
There are blocks and blocks of fabric stores and clothing stores – pretty much anything you need is there.
The flower mart is also nearby so you need to walk around there too.
Will someone please give me a reason to own one of these ball gowns???
Wondering what I bought?
Some fabric for my newborn portrait backgrounds (a soft pink and a soft blue – stay tuned for my next newborn portrait session!) and this cute little guy. Woof!
What can I say: I’m Feeling Blessed!
And do you know what else I’m blessed by? Capturing amazing moments for you to treasure for a lifetime!
sessions are an hour long with unlimited poses, unlimited outfits, unlimited fun!
