Failla Villa Private Estate Wedding Photographer: The Wedding of Maria and Don

Today is Maria and Don’s big day and I was lucky enough to be asked to capture
their wedding day love story!
The couple chose the amazing Failla Villa in San Diego Country Estates for their wedding.
And even better than just a wedding DAY, they reserved the villa for an entire wedding weekend!
Their families joined them on the estate on Friday, enjoyed the wedding Saturday
AND got to stay through Sunday —
isn’t that an amazing way to celebrate?
The Villa had an amazing Man Cave with pool table — so we were able to use that
to capture some of the fun….

And I’ll give you a little hint about what’s been racked up in that portrait —
their wedding date was May 10th….
…um…yep, there was a lot of fun to be had….

Both inside and out on the grounds of the estate….

And you might have noticed a horse mask popping up in a couple of today’s photos….
he was the mascot of the wedding, so stay tuned for a few more.
(I did say this was a super FUN wedding, didn’t I?)

Welcome back to chapter two of Maria and Don’s Wedding Day Love Story!

We’re at the beautiful Failla Villa and I’m feeling honored and excited that
I was asked to be their wedding photographer and share their amazing day!
Maria’s lace shoes and amazing bouquet (flowers by Always Elegant Flowers, website HERE)
were just a few of the beautiful details she had planned….and how about the most important detail of all:

Maria told me she tried on tons of dresses and finally, at the very end of her appointment found
THE perfect dress — so unique and amazing — just like her!
Beautiful bride!

The Villa featured some amazing decor and beautiful areas for portraits….like the bridge over the koi pond.
Maria and Don opted to have a groom’s first look at the bride, so I set up a secluded spot for them….
So while Don waited nervously, his beautiful bride tip-toed up behind him….

For a beautiful and sweet reveal….!

Now I’m excited to show you some of their portraits.
We were just finishing family portraits when we felt the ground shaking…..
we turned around and……

YIKES!   Luckily the bridal party was able to outrun him and I had the presence of mind
to take a few photos of the event.   He just kept on running right down the street…thankfully!

Well, after we all calmed down a bit, our romantic portraits continued with just one more
creature claiming the spotlight….

And just when everyone was hot and ready for a treat….ding ding!
The ice cream truck showed up!!

It was a beautiful and tasty surprise for all the guests!

YUM-O!

The amazing wedding arch was lovingly created by Don’s dad — and get ready for this —
after the ceremony it will be transformed into a four poster bed for the bride and groom’s home.
Seriously, how clever, amazing and meaningful is THAT????????

The flowers were elegant and romantic in shades of white. (Created by Always Elegant Flowers HERE)

And a little bottle of “bubbly” awaited each guest….

Maria was walked down the aisle by her loving parents….
Straight to the arms of her handsome groom….

The ceremony site took full advantage of the amazing views of the mountains….

And as you can see from that last wedding portrait, it was a REALLY windy day, so
lighting the unity candle was a bit of a challenge…

But the couple got creative and made it work…
…which seems to be a good philosophy to married life anyway…

And they did such a good job during the ceremony, they got to kiss at the end!

(And how about the same scene with a different angle, captured by
my second photographer?)
And as bubbles filled the air, the couple was pronounced husband and wife!

Today I’m going to share the final chapter of Maria and Don’s wedding day love story.
Are you as sad that the day is coming to an end as I am?
In case you missed the first four chapters of their Wedding day Love Story,
you might want to stop to catch up:

There were lots of amazing details, sparkling crystal and beautiful flowers….

And a bride and groom completely IN LOVE, having the time of their life,
surrounded by friends and family….just perfection if you ask me!

(Seriously, is that the cutest cake topper, or what?)

The horse?….suffice it to say, he was the life of the party.
