Frivolous Friday: Rainy Day Goofiness, Tea with Alice (in Wonderland!) and Theatre Week

It’s Frivolous Friday!

Thought I would share some of the fun I squeezed in this week (in between all my portrait sessions and retouching work.)

Yep, this happened #1:

I’m feeling a little low on Sunshine this week – how about  you?   I mean I know we need the rain and I’m glad for it, but can it please

rain a little more at night and a little less during the day?    We ventured out on our walk anyway and scored with some beautiful puddles and reflections,

and I couldn’t help myself giving a little jump for joy!

(And not kidding you – within ten seconds of this jump suddenly the skies opened and the HAIL began!  It was a fun end to our morning adventure!)

Yep. This happened #2:

My book club read Alice in Wonderland this month.  This was first time I’ve read the original 1865 novel.   We discussed it over a “Curiouser and curiouser!” get together.

Our hostess, Wendy went all out recreating the perfect Mad Hatter’s Tea Party!

And I have to share one fun part of this super fun Mad Tea Party –

this Wacky Tea Pot was made by my mom –  it usually graces my kitchen counter but I loaned it out for the party!

It serves up a fun cup of tea…

Yep, this happened #3:

Celebrated San Diego Theatre week!

Hubs and I snapped up half price tickets to see “Familiar” at the Old Globe.

It was pouring rain when we arrived,  but by intermission the sky was clear, cold and a little bit spooky!

We enjoyed the play and recommend it!

I always bring a little treat for us to enjoy during intermission –

this time I brought myself a Peach flavored Kit Kat (a client brought it for me from Japan – how sweet was that?

And she didn’t even know that peach is one of my most favorite flavors!  YUM-O

This was too delicious to share so I also brought hubby’s favorites:   Starburst and a teeny little Milky Way Midnight bar…

Flavored Kit Kats were new to me so I looked it up on Amazon and discovered there are 30 different kinds!

Some of the flavors are purple sweet potato, Japanese tea,  matcha tea flavors, strawberry cheesecake, Sake, Apple, wasabi, red bean sandwich,

strawberry, a caramel-like one, rum raisin, melon, pancake and more…..

(Photo below from Amazon – not my photo)

What is your favorite intermission treat??
