Frivolous Friday: Makin’ a List & Checkin’ it Twice, Grinchy Decor and my Christmas Cookie Extravaganza

Frivolous:  carefree and not serious, lighthearted, giddy

Guess what three things happened this week in between all my portrait sessions and retouching work???
Well…let me tell you….

Yep, this happened #1:

Am making an effort to pre-plan some Christmas fun so I don’t get so busy that I miss all the festivities.

Things like Christmas Eve Church Service and trips to family are a given and are already on my calendar – these are the loosey-goosey sort of things that it’s easy to forget….?

Here are my initial thoughts…and I’m already checking things off!

What else should I include?

Yep, this happened #2:

Strolled around Balboa Park SIX TIMES this week!

Yep.  Got to spend time in one of my most favorite spots in San Diego during six family portrait sessions this past week –

I always arrive early (that’s how I roll for EVERYTHING) so I had time to see the sights and capture a few portraits of my own before meeting my

clients (a.k.a. FRIENDS!)

The Grinch tree is always a highlight of my stroll!

Yep.  This Happened #3

Did you notice I already checked-off Decorating Christmas Cookies from my bucket list?

Well,  my extended family all gathered in mom’s kitchen for our second annual Black Friday Cookie decorating Extravaganza!

And side note, this year we went EASY-PEASY and bought Pillsbury Cookie dough….because let’s face it, the fun of cookies isn’t in the mixing and measuring….it’s in the decorating!

And side note – my sister volunteered to bring all the decorating goodies and she outdid herself!

I have to give a special shout-out to  ‘Color Mist’  -spray paint for your cookies!  Who knew?

And she brought the most amazing cookie cutters….

– not only do they cut out the shape itself,  they also stamp an image on the cookie and have a spring so you can pick it up and then push it out on the cookie sheet – all in one swoop!

(and if you’ve ever struggled with getting your beautiful cookie dough cut out from the board to the cookie sheet you will be amazed!)

Seriously – such a breeze!
