Frivolous Friday: My Very Own Trash Can at City Hall, Pho (and how to pronounce it!) and a Coyote Encounter

Yep, this happened #1a:

A NOTE:  Before I jump into my first ‘Frivolous Friday YEP’  – I wanted to give you the scoop on my format change.

I recently discovered that facebook was breaking up my Frivolous Friday albums and sending individual photos out into the world…

Awww…. they are too little to be alone in the world – they need my STORY and the rest of their photo friends to go with them!

So I’m going to switch formats and post one blog entry each FRIVOLOUS Friday Morning instead of a facebook album of photos.

I’ve already experimented with this and my test readers LOVED IT and said it was so much easier to just scroll and read than to have to keep clicking to the next photo on facebook.

So let me know what you think!

And YEP.  This Happened #1b

I was in downtown San Diego capturing some corporate client headshots (yes I will travel to you for headshots!) and couldn’t resist stopping to check on MY trash can!

Did you know I HAVE MY OWN TRASH CAN???

Well I do and in case you missed the story — a couple years ago the City of San Diego called me to ask if they could feature one of my portraits on a recycling center at City Hall.
How big of an honor is that????
It seems they’d seen my photographs on my blog (HERE if you want to peek)
(They asked what I would charge and I said it would be my gift –you know how much I love my San Diego!)
(And yes, I asked a passer-by to take my photo for me as I leaned on the cutest trash can this side of the Mississippi!)

Here’s my portrait the City of San Diego asked to use on their new recycling bin

And can I side note here and tell you that if you haven’t yet explored Chicano Park – GO!~

It’s so beautiful – I guarantee you will love it!

Yep, this happened #2:

And turning my attention to food (one of my favorite subjects and hobbies…next to photography of course….)

I finally had the chance to try the new Pho Ca Dao Restaurant in Poway!

It’s colorful and sleek looking inside….

And the Seafood Pho was DELISH!

Did you know that “Pho”  is high on the list of commonly mispronounced words….?

Well, here’s the official scoop so you aren’t one who mispronounces it:

Pho is pronounced “fuh,” no matter how you slurp it.  Here’s a sound clip in case you want to hear it.

Yep, this happened #3:

Had an encounter of the coyote kind on a recent hike in the hills way above Poway.

My hiking pal’s dog spotted him first – he was walking about 100 feet behind us down the trail.

We weren’t scared as we were all bigger than him — we just stopped to watch him as he ambled away….

And can I ask a favor?

I’d sure appreciate a facebook “Like” and quick a comment –  that is an amazing gift to me because 100% of my business is referral based!  {gasp!}

(You might not know that Social media robots look for engagement before they broaden my audience and reach – and the more people that see me and what I offer the better.)

So click back to facebook and give me a LIKE and you’ll make my day!  😀  😀

Thank you!
