I love, love LOVE engagement sessions.
Seriously, not kidding.
Not only is it a great time for us to get to know each other it’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for you to capture Chapter One of your love story – before you put on a white dress!
And one of my most favorite things is when couples use their Engagement Session to do something or go somewhere that special and unique just to them.
So when it’s time to plan your engagement session, I suggest that you customize our time together to reflect you as a couple.
Not only will our time together be a bit more fun it will also give you more unique photos that could be more meaningful to you in the years ahead.
If you are engaged and have started thinking about your engagement session, here are some suggestions.
First of all, let’s talk Location
Here are some things to ask yourself: Where do you and your fiancé like to go together?
Where did you meet? Do you have access to a location that is unique?
Often just thinking through these questions and jotting down your answers will help you think of a cool location that hadn’t even occurred to you!
Or maybe you have a vibe you are looking for but don’t know where to find it? Ask me – I’ll help!
Do you have a favorite winery?
Love the wilderness?
Is Sunday brunch your thing? Let’s capture that!
Or maybe you want to feature your hobbies?
Or biking on the beach? yes please….
Picnics and playgrounds?
What do you like to do?
What do you like to do together?
Are there hobbies or activities that you share?
The way you choose to spend time together are usually a big part of why you “click” as a couple.
Bringing your hobbies into your engagement session is a great way to make it more unique.
Are you a Disney fan? Let’s schedule your engagement session at Disneyland!
Maybe some formal portraits and then some goofing around (with Holi Powder?) sums you up?
Maybe cooking together, playing frisbee in the park, surfing or a walk on your favorite trail.
One more thing to consider is bringing along your pet – they are such a huge part of their lives it might be fun to capture some of the fun with them along too.
How about sports? Where would be fun to celebrate your love???
Or maybe you just want some beautiful portraits at the beach or Balboa Park? Yep. Yep and Yep.
Maybe you have some fun ideas for a Save The Date Card?
Fountains, balloons and Disney Symphony Hall?
Yep – let’s do it!
Years from now, all that will remain of your special day is your photographs, so choosing your photographer is one of your most important wedding day decisions.
