Frivolous Friday: Swimming with Sharks, the Moonlight Theatre, and Back To School Craziness
Frivolous: carefree and not serious, lighthearted, giddy
Guess what three things happened this week in between all my portrait sessions and retouching work???
Well…let me tell you….
Yep, this happened #1:
Risked my life (not really) on another swim with the sharks!
Every summer we trek over to La Jolla Shores to swim with the Leopard Sharks!
We didn’t see as many leopard sharks as other years, but I did swim through a school of teeny fish and got up close to a sting ray…
thankfully not TOO close – cuz I always do the sting ray-shuffle! *And if you don’t know what that is check THIS out.
Yep, this happened #2:
Enjoyed my very first production at the Moonlight Theatre in Vista. And let me just say I was BLOWN AWAY by the production, the facility, the orchestra, the acting…..oh my goodness how have I possibly been missing out on this?
And don’t think it’s just a concrete stage with some benches….it is new and modern with state-of-the-art stage lighting and a superior surround sound outdoor sound system.
It’s a beautiful outdoor venue, with easy free parking, is framed with tall eucalyptus trees and welcomes you to bring a picnic (we did!) and enjoy the sunset before the show.
Here’s what especially amazed me the productions feature a mix of actors from Broadway and superior regional artists accompanied by a live orchestra and most shows often feature the ACTUAL Broadway sets and costumes.
It’s impossible to get that kind of quality for that ticket price. We already bought tickets to see their production of “Chicago” next month and plan to purchase season tickets for next year and I’m sure the years to come!
Hunchback of Notre Dame plays until September 1st (HERE is a great video about the show.)

Yep, this happened #3:
Celebrated Back To School with a free photobooth!
I set up a fun little station at a local Elementary School’s back to school night and gave hundreds of families a fun and wacky photo!
And of course I had to give it a try myself….
Every now and then it’s fun to put all my regular work on hold, give back and share some smiles…!
What can I say: I’m Feeling Blessed!
