Frivolous Friday: Friends with Facebook, Slowing waaaay down with a Tortoise and Wonderful Watermelon

Frivolous:  carefree and not serious, lighthearted, giddy

Guess what three things happened this week in between all my portrait sessions and retouching work???
Well…let me tell you….

Yep, this happened #1:

Was honored to invited by Facebook (yep. THE Facebook) to attend their Community Boost seminar!

San Diego was one of 4 cities chosen in the US so it was quite a coup to be able to attend.

The first thing we were asked to do after checking in was decorate our name badge with stickers.

There were four kinds of stickers  to choose from, so of course I needed ALL of them to make my badge look OH SO FABULOUS!

Mayor Faulkner gave the keynote and told us all about his support for local business.

It was great meeting other small business owners, learning about the importance of social media (which I already knew – you all are always so good to me!)

Yep, this happened #2:

Got up close and personal with a desert tortoise!

Meet Speedy, a longtime friend of mine.

She is 20 years old and she joined her adoptive family when she was the size of a matchbox car!

She’s the sweetest little thing ever!

***And here’s something you might not know – she hibernates in a box in a dark place every year from October to March!  (No food, no water, just a quiet little snooze for six months!)  WHAAAT?

Well clearly she’s awake now!  She eats a little bit of a dry foot but mostly produce of all kinds… corn on the cob is especially yummy!

Yep, this happened #3:

I am so enjoying all the lovely summer fruit and produce out now- how about you?  Just seeing all the beautiful colors makes me happy!

I’ve been eating tons of strawberries, blueberries and peaches….

….and so much watermelon I’m starting to turn pink!

And last night when we had friends over for dinner I couldn’t resist getting a little creative….

(And of course single-handedly eating all the watermelon scraps while I was working….)

What can I say:  I’m Feeling Blessed!
