Frivolous Friday: Vitamin Sea, the Horton Grand and Amazing Tacos

Frivolous:  carefree and not serious, lighthearted, giddy

Guess what three things happened this week in between all my portrait sessions and retouching work???
Well…let me tell you….

Yep, this happened #1:

Needed a dose of Vitamin Sea so we headed to the beach for our morning walk.  Torrey Pines Reserve to be specific.

We walked up the big hill, around the Reserve and then down the beach stairs – and I loved every minute of it!

And the views were stunning!

Smiled at some “street art” we spotted along the way….

And had a shiver when we saw this….. the rock slide had happened since our last visit and we remembered

a jogger had been injured by the rock fall.  A sobering reminder that there are dangers out there….

Yep, this happened #2:

Visited the Horton Grand Hotel and LOVE the idea of photographing a wedding there!

(As a note of background, I wanted to see the venue before I met with a couple who plan to be wed there next spring –

I’ll keep you posted if they picked me to capture their wedding day love story!)

The Horton Grand was originally built in 1886 and has a colorful past.  ( HERE if you are interested)

It’s been lovingly restored and the decor is beautiful – they have a beautiful interior courtyard for weddings as well as a trendy

cocktail hour space and ballroom space for the reception.

Yep, this happened #3:

And since I was at the Horton Grand anyway, and it happened to be about lunch time, we grabbed at table

at their “Salt and Whiskey Restaurant.”  I ordered the fish tacos and can report that they were delish!

And SO much food!      I recommend it!
