Frivolous Friday: Trying to stay cool with fun and food

Frivolous:  carefree and not serious, lighthearted, giddy,

Guess what three things happened this week in between all my portrait sessions and retouching work???
Well…let me tell you….

Yep, this happened #1:

Even though it was a million degrees outside, the hubs and I couldn’t resist a visit to the new “Walkabout Australia”

[side note, truth is, hubby could have resisted but he owed me a favor….ha! I think the actual quote was “you want to go WHERE in this heat?” 😛 ]

This new exhibit at the Safari Park is wonderful because you get to walk inside the enclosure with the kangaroos!

We also chuckled at how some of the animals were handling the heat –

First the warthog, doing what pretty much all of US wanted to be doing…..

And the flamingo was enjoying the cool water too….

And I’ll leave you with the lioness having a good ole NAP!

Ha!

Yep.  This happened #2

Also this week I’ve eaten more than one [won’t tell you exactly how many] of these amazing mini-paletas (popsicles)

If you haven’t tasted one yet, get yourself over to Costco and pick up a box….

(Or actually, trust me on this and get two boxes.)

They are mini-sized fruit flavored ice cream popsicles dipped in chocolate.

Banana, Coconut and Strawberry – super fresh tasting and made with real ingredients.

(Seriously the ingredients are real pureed fruit and cream – I can actually pronounce every ingredient!)

You can get a box of 36 for about $9 at costco – and the best part of it?

Only 130 calories each = SCORE!

Yep.  This happened #3

A great way to enjoy the lazy days of summer is with friends!  I think I’ve told you before about my
“Around the World Potluck” group…?  We meet once a month and the hostess chooses a country – then we each bring a dish from that country and enjoy a little bit of ‘travel!’

Well this week I went to dinner in Ecuador!  And guess what?

They serve their Chicken and Rice Stew with a garnish of POPCORN!  Is that fun or what???

And speaking of cool and

What can I say:  I’m Feeling Blessed!
