Frivolous Friday: Unicorns and Color at the Fair
Frivolous: carefree and not serious, lighthearted, giddy
Guess what three things happened this week in between all my portrait sessions and retouching work???
Well…let me tell you….
Yep, this happened #1:
Enjoyed a visit to the fair
! I love strolling around taking pictures of all the fun things and this year there’s plenty of color and SWEETNESS~!
I somehow want this giant purple popsicle for my backyard….what do you think – too over the top?
Yep, this happened #2:
What do you like to do at the fair? Hubby and I have a little route we always do — first the garden area where we look for ideas.
And here’s an idea I love – and how simple is that? I’m thinking it says FUN IN THE SUMMER for sure!
Put this on my to do list (right after build a giant purple popsicle….)
Also thought this was fun – maybe on a smaller scale – but loved it!
Speaking of love….. (Carnations instead of candy!)
We always walk through all the shops, the photography exhibit, the woodworking exhibits and stroll around the rides enjoying the sights and sounds….
Yep, this happened #3:
And what do you know, I also ate a few things….but before you think I ate all of this, I didn’t!
I stopped people to take photos of their food….cuz that’s how I roll.
The fair has a special promotion going on called “Ask about my Unicorn”
So I asked.
Turns out that every food vendor displaying that sign has a special product that they have dressed up to be fun, sweet, colorful and therefore UNICORN.
The churro lady adds purple sugar to her Unicorn Churro, the frozen banana will dip it in rainbow sprinkles, they have
special cookies, fudge, even a Cotton Candy Ice Cream Sandwich…
(Vanilla ice cream sandwiched between compressed pink and blue cotton candy and rolled in Fruity Pebbles cereal….)
So what did I eat?
Naked Shrimp – my absolute favorite thing to eat at the fair – it’s served in half of a pineapple so
it’s beautiful too. I also believe it just might be one of the healthiest things at the fair…
….so double score on that!
Hubby went for the grilled corn and Chicken Charlies’ assortment place which we decided had too much batter and was a greasy mess….blah.
Kettle Corn is my for-sure purchase too (on my way home to eat for the next week) and then hubby and I used our buy one get one coupon for
an old fashioned ice cream bar and frozen cheesecake on a stick.
What can I say: I’m Feeling Blessed!
As a photographer it is my great joy to capture Family and Senior Portraits, Engagement, Weddings and MORE that are as special and unique as you are –
