Art is ALIVE Every Day – but especially last weekend at the San Diego Museum of Art

Every year I look forward to the “Art Alive” exhibit at the Museum of Art and this year was no different.

And as a member I get in free.  Yay!   If you’ve never heard of it,

The Museum is filled with 100+ floral interpretations of masterworks of art!

So a florist is assigned a piece of art and is then asked to make an interpretation of that art in flowers.

So in the first photo – the painting of peaches – has been interpreted with pin cushion protea.

Isn’t it amazing?  It’s really fun to stroll around talking about the art and the flowers!

Some are very literal….

And some aren’t….

(This was one of my favs – I love how the vines swoop like her robe – and the blue ribbon matches the one in her hair!)

And of course after our adventure, we had to go to LUNCH –

so we enjoyed a beautiful and art museum worthy Soba Salad at Balboa Park’s Japanese Tea Garden Pavilion
