Art is ALIVE Every Day – but especially last weekend at the San Diego Museum of Art
Every year I look forward to the “Art Alive” exhibit at the Museum of Art and this year was no different.
And as a member I get in free. Yay! If you’ve never heard of it,
The Museum is filled with 100+ floral interpretations of masterworks of art!
So a florist is assigned a piece of art and is then asked to make an interpretation of that art in flowers.
So in the first photo – the painting of peaches – has been interpreted with pin cushion protea.
Here’s another one:
Which was interpreted like this:
Isn’t it amazing? It’s really fun to stroll around talking about the art and the flowers!
Some are very literal….
And some aren’t….
(This was one of my favs – I love how the vines swoop like her robe – and the blue ribbon matches the one in her hair!)
This was another of my absolute favorites – and it was representing this plate:
This one was meant to look at from the top down – just like the painting:
And this was another of my top 3 favs – I just love the colors and swoops of it!
