Frivolous Friday: Me as Willie Wonka (yes a CHOCOLATE Factory!) Pizza. And the Car Show
Frivolous: carefree and not serious, lighthearted, giddy
Guess what three things happened this week in between all my portrait sessions and retouching work???
Well…let me tell you….
Yep, this happened #1:
My friends treated me to some birthday JOY! We always get together to do something a little fun for our birthdays,
and this year my birthday adventure was a tour of the Chuao Chocolate Factory!
(It’s in Carlsbad and was so fun and interesting!)
First we captured a little JOY because if you know me at all, you know I had my camera with me
and I couldn’t possibly resist a group photo with JOY in it! (Right?)
Sidenote: Yes, I made the lady who happened to be walking by take our photo, and yes I asked her to back up into the garden so we would all fit in the frame….
Cuz come on people! Sacrifices must be made in the name of photography!
After that amazing photo op we went into their cute chocolate boutique to get ready for our tour…
And we had to wear a HAIR NET (gasp!) and take off all our jewelry including watches and wedding rings…I guess in case we ended up falling in the chocolate river
like Augustus Gloop in Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory HERE if you need to see that scene -don’t you love that movie???
Make sure you read my blog with the WHOLE STORY OF THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY TOUR
And you’ll also see why my new slogan is going to be “Joy is my superpower”
Yep, this happened #2:
Even with all our chocolate tasting we were starved! So we continued on to part two of my
birthday adventure: LUNCH!
It was my first visit to a Pizza Port and definitely won’t be my last! Yum!
(And please note the side salad – that cancelled out the calories from the pizza….it’s all about balance you know….)
Yep, this happened #3:
Went to a Car Show.
Backstory: Hubby is a bit of a car buff. Not a crazy but a buff….. 🙂
And one of his favorite Classic Car Shows – Good Guys – was in Del Mar this past week, so we decided to spend the day.
He was there to admire the cars, I was there to sort-of admire them, but mostly to capture some amazing photographs!
Cuz if I have my camera, I can have fun ANYWHERE….
We were there for 4 hours and saw probably 3,000 cars – here are my favorites, let me know if you see any trends here….
Raise your hand if you knew Purple is my jam?
Not only is it my official business color – I just LOVE it in real life too!
How would I look pulling up to photograph a wedding in one of those purple cars?
I think pretty darn cool…but my equipment wouldn’t fit …!
But it’s fun to imagine isn’t it?
….because sillier things have happened!
We also had fun at their Auto Cross! Here’s a video and a photo captured with a technique called “Panning”
This next photo was captured with a technique called “Panning.” It involves focusing on a moving subject then moving the camera at the same speed and angle as the car is moving.
It’s very tricky to do – but I love how it shows the car was speeding
( rather than freezing the motion so you can’t tell if it was parked on the speedway or moving?_
sessions are an hour long with unlimited poses, unlimited outfits, unlimited fun!
