Frivolous Friday: Where in the World Did Pam Go?
Frivolous: carefree and not serious, lighthearted, giddy
Guess what three things happened this week in between all my portrait sessions and retouching work???
Well…let me tell you….
Yep, this happened #1:
Have to tell you about Part Two of my Road Trip!
(We started with a couple days in Las Vegas where the highlight was seeing the Elton John Concert! If you missed that whole story, you might want to CLICK ON OVER)
Any guesses as to where in the world I went after Vegas?
I’ll give you a few picture clues captured along the way:
**This was along the way, not the final destination!
And how fun is this Tshirt??? HA!
Me with the WORLD’S LARGEST COW! Mooooooo!
Check out the whole story on my blog!
Yep, this happened #2:
Did you guess I visited Death Valley? We stayed inside the park for two nights and had so much fun exploring!
The first thing we did was head to Badwater Basin which is the lowest place in North America
and the third lowest spot in the world! (282 feet below sea level)
And it was SOOOOO windy it was literally hard to walk!
The bottom of the lake bed is called “Devil’s Golf Course” and it really is surreal – it’s covered with
salt crystals and crunches when you walk on it…and it’s so quiet…. It’s not hard to imagine why this place is called Death Valley.
But there is plenty of LIFE and COLOR in death valley!
I also found some sparkle!
I stood around waiting over 30 minutes (in a cold 40 mph wind!) in hopes that the sun would dip below the cloud layer…and it did!
Hello Sunshine!
Check out my blog to read all about the amazing colors of Artists’ Palette, the 20 Mule Team Borax Mine, and how big that arch was!
Yep, this happened #3:
Pretended I was in Star Wars and climbed some sand dunes! (Had so much fun!)
Death Valley’s Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes have been used to film sand dune scenes for lots of movies including the Star Wars series!
The largest dune is called Star Dune. The depth of the sand at its crest is 150 feet.
“Water….must have water…..”
(…..kidding but seems like I should be saying that doesn’t it?)
Did have water and my one and only true love with me though…..
And speaking of my one true love, he helped me paint with some light for this starry skies portrait.
(I captured this right next to our hotel in Stovepipe Wells)
Check out my blog to read all about my sand dune adventures….and meet the App that made our vacation AMAZING!
