Frivolous Friday: Jumping for joy, Eating a Mouse and the Rose Parade
Frivolous: carefree and not serious, lighthearted, giddy
Yep, this happened #1:
I’m JUMPIN’ for JOY at the thought of a new year! I’m so excited to see what God has in store for me in 2018!
And thought I’d share this quote that I’m currently adoring:
“Your success and happiness lies in you. Resolve to keep happy, and your joy and you shall form an invincible host against difficulties.” – Helen Keller
Yep, this happened #2:
After jumping for joy, I jumped over to the kitchen and started my new year off right with a delicious mouse for breakfast!
This waffle iron is 30 years old and I have no intention of replacing it – I’ll be a mouse eater for life!
Please ignore the ‘patina’ and pass the syrup!
Yep. This happened #3:
Said ‘hi’ to an octopus made of flowers!
Did you know that when the Rose Parade is over they put all the floats on display? You can go the next day to see everything up close and personal.
This year we zipped up to Pasadena to check them out – and it was breathtaking!
I’m always amazed at how they mix flowers and fruit, vegetables and greenery to make the pattern.
(Here’s an I-SPY for you – can you spot garlic, apples, peppers, cabbage and a lemon? In addition to the flowers??)
Of course I had to stop to soak in the Rose Float from my own college….GO Cal Poly!
