Frivolous Friday: My Furry Coworkers, Getting Geared Up and Citrus!

Frivolous:  carefree and not serious, lighthearted, giddy

Guess what three things happened this week in between all my portrait sessions and retouching work???
Well…let me tell you….

Yep, this happened #1:

Had a little bit of downtime this week (keep reading to see why) so I had extra time for poodle hugs!

These two cuties (Turbo and Flash) are my coworkers.  We share an office during the day….they help assist me with doorbell notifications, let me know when the mailman arrives

and make sure I don’t sit around too long at my computer doing portrait retouching without a hug or some exercise.

I don’t think could make it through a day without some coworker love!

(‘Coworker love’ will be a pretty strange requirement if I ever move into an office with REAL people, don’t you think?  😛  )

And for the record, I’m pretty sure I’ll be a dog owner and lover for life – and little black poodles are my jam.  Woof and Slurp!

Yep, this happened #2:

In case you are wondering why I had some downtime this week — here’s the scoop:

Each January I block off an entire week from photographing weddings and portrait sessions to send

all my professional equipment to the Canon Factory Service Center to be cleaned, maintained and pampered (think of it as a spa Vacation for cameras…)

I have a ton of professional grade lenses and flashes as well as THREE cameras

(I have three cameras  because I carry two on me during the entire wedding day:  one with my zoom lens and one with my regular lens and the third camera is there so I always have a backup!)

I’m happy to report that everything got a clean bill of health and my primary camera got a shiny new LCD back screen,  and a nice, new shutter assembly because it had captured 255,000 photos since it’s last shutter replacement two years ago!

255,000 photos captured in TWO YEARS!    WOW!  No wonder I have a callus on my trigger finger!

So all of us (me and all my gear)  have had a nice week of rest and refreshment so we are ready to dive into a new year of photography!

So bring it on world – We’re prepped and READY!

Yep, this happened #3:

Speaking of refreshment,  I spent a couple hours one afternoon of my staycation week making some refreshing

fresh-squeezed orange juice!  Yum!   My parents always share the bounty of their citrus trees,

so we had lots to juice and yummy tangerines to eat.

Needless to say….my Vitamin C levels are currently topped off.  😉

What can I say:  I’m Feeling Blessed!
