Frivolous Friday: Demented Christmas Decor, Playing with Food, Choosing a New Car and Why an Airplane Made Me Cry

Frivolous:  carefree and not serious, lighthearted, giddy

Yep, this happened #1:

Toured “Robolights” in Palm Springs with my family a couple nights ago – and let me tell you it’s like nothing I’ve ever seen before!
The display is described by the artist as “an elf village, with post-apocalyptic extraterrestrial nuclear elves”
It looks like the set of a Tim Burton film – and is really best described as DEMENTED and TWISTED!
(Take a second to study this photo – the scene was created with hundreds of empty spray cans, machine parts, hot glue, wood, tubes, wires….you name it….the artist used it!
And I’m not kidding you when I say that this is less than 1% of the total display!)
The demented display is HUGE and takes at least 30 minutes to walk through….. here’s a a little sampling I captured of the craziness:
If you want to learn more about it,  check this out.

Yep, this happened #2:

Had fun watching someone play with my food!
Don’t you just love Shogun Restaurant?  (if you’ve never been, get yourself over there right away- it makes meal time an entertainment event!)
We make sure to go every time Matt is home for a visit and it never disappoints!

And after lunch we walked around the Auto Show – we each chose a car we liked in case we win the lottery.

I thought I might look good driving this Mazda MX-5, what do you think?  (…of course mine would need to be RED! )

(But I’d have to keep my old car for weddings, I don’t think this one will fit all my gear….)

Yep, this happened #3:
An airplane made me cry.   🙁
This morning I had to say goodbye to my best Christmas present of all…..waaaaaa!
I won’t see my Matt again until May!
(Rats…..why do kids have to grow up and move away anyway…???)
I’ll share this with you though….every time he leaves I try to remember this quote:
“Sometimes happiness doesn’t make you happy”
Fellow empty nesters:  can I get an amen….?
What can I say:  I’m Feeling Blessed!
