Frivolous Friday: The Fair, Eating Naked and the Backstage Blues

Frivolous:  carefree and not serious, lighthearted, giddy
What three things happened this week in between all my portrait sessions and retouching work???
Well…let me tell you….

Yep, this happened #1:

Enjoyed a visit to the fair!  I love strolling around taking pictures of all the fun things.
We wandered into a Don McLean concert and sang “Bye, Bye Miss American Pie” with a few thousand of my closest friends.  And I always ride just one ride – it’s a tradition – and it’s not these swings…. any guesses?   Are you a ride person?

Yep, this happened #2:

Shopped and Ate Naked.
First, the naked part…..
Naked Shrimp – my absolute favorite thing to eat at the fair – it’s served in half of a pineapple so
it’s beautiful too.   I also believe it just might be one of the healthiest things at the fair…
….so double score on that!

Kettle Corn is my for-sure purchase too (on my way home to eat for the next week)
and I always buy a Caramel Apple Tower to eat while I stroll around.

I talked to a man who tried the Krispie Cream Chicken Sandwich with Ice cream
(Yes, chicken AND ice cream inside a donut)
he said it was good….but I say “ewwww” and  I’ll stick to my tried and true favorites.

Bought one other little thing before I left the fair……
(Am I crazy?  Where will I wear them?  But I couldn’t resist!  Help!)

Yep, this happened #3:

Hung out backstage this week to photograph two amazing theatrical productions –
don’t you just love the theatre???

**And here’s a little lesson for you – all professional stages have ropes like this along the side stage walls – they’re called “Hand Lines” and they help move the scenery pieces for the production.

The pieces of scenery on stage are held overhead by steel cables, and these ropes allow a stagehand to fly them in and out by moving the counterweight balanced offstage.

What can I say:  I’m Feeling Blessed!
