Ciara and Shane’s wedding day began with a mixture of rain, drizzle and clouds.
Probably not the way the couple imagined the day, but they had
faith and decided the ceremony was going to be outside rain or shine.
Well, I’m going to skip right to the good part of the story and tell you right now
that the rain stopped for most of the day — their ceremony, romantic portrait time, cocktail hour and most of the reception were clear and rain free!
So they received the good luck of rain on their wedding day without having to deal with rain. SCORE!
Since it was drizzling early in the day, we luckily found a beautiful little courtyard
with a roof for some wedding party portraits….
Ciara and Shane met before their ceremony for a prayer with their family.
They elected not to see each other, so we carefully choreographed this special moment of…
The team at Twin Oaks Golf Course dried each and every chair just before
the ceremony – so guests could enjoy a nice dry spot to celebrate this
sweet love story….
And it was a sweet ceremony….
I love family portrait time – these really are among the most important portraits
of the day – they will be displayed in everyone’s home for a lifetime.
And while I’m doing that, I like to capture a beautiful portrait of each of their parents…
because it’s a wonderful thing to have especially when they are looking SOOOOO nice!
And speaking of nice…..
Which do you prefer? Looking happy or lookin’ cool???
And everything was fine until the T-Rex showed up!
(Please let me know if he damaged those roses, I’ll come fix them up!)
The romantic time with just the bride and groom is another one of my MOST favorite
times of the day. Ciara and Shane were relaxed, ready to smile and SO adventurous!
They were game to swim across ponds and climb the rocks of the waterfall —
I’m kidding! I would never let my bride and groom risk life and limb.
But I will let you know a little secret – my assistant photographer and I visited Twin Oaks
a couple weeks before the wedding so we could make plans for each portrait, including
where we wanted the couple to walk and planned the optimum route – yep.
I’m an advanced-planner type of person and I’m not going to apologize for it.
We don’t want to rush but we also definitely don’t want to waste time on wedding day!
Here are a few of the 200+ romantic portraits Ciara and Shane have in their gallery….
Ciara and Shane put a priority on their portraits – so we allowed lots of time…
but always that time seems to go by in the blink of an eye!
So we headed back to their guests because cocktail hour was ending….
So my first task when we got back to the clubhouse was to capture each
and every precious detail of their reception.
From their cake with a touch of Disney magic….
To their golf themed favors at each place setting….
After their Grand Entrance, the couple enjoyed their First Dance
Throughout the evening the couple suggested we create some night time portraits —
I’m always happy to do that! Some cuddles by the fire….
And a few out in the rain when it started to drizzle….
Soon it was time for their beautiful wedding day to end….
but not before a sparkler send off….
Ciara and Shane, thank you for sharing your love story with me!
